For about 2 weeks i ate around 400-500 cals for breakfast then 2 minutes afer i finished braekfast i would go back to bed, could this lead to weight gain even if it is just slight, i was thinking about this last night and it seems the same as going to bed at night you try to avoid eating so you dont have excess calories that stay on your body, could this be the case with this? ? ?

Thanks

Gaz.

No. But do you really want to sleep after breakfast? Don't you rather wanna get a good night sleep?
I've done this myself but I kept on losing weight.

everyone knows that sleeping after eating causes the release of FGH (fat-growth-hormone) and everything gets stored as fat

seriously though, it wouldnt make you gain fat at all, but i dont know how it would effect the digestion of the food, i always like to stand/sit upright after i've finished a meal, let the digestive enzymes do their thing, then have some water about 15-30mins later

I couldnt see it would hurt as a meal takes 3-4 hours to digest maybe sleeping it takes longer?
I eat a small meal before going to bed and thats within an hour of going to bed so wouldnt be that much difference in what time it happens.

I believe the main reason for not eating before sleeping (when it comes to losing weight) is that your metabolism drops the closer you get to bedtime. I'm not sure, but I believe that the reason for this is to calm you down, you don't want to feel full of energy as you're going to sleep. I read that calories consumed early in the day boost your metabolism more than those you consume later in the day, which surely contributes to the "don't eat before bedtime"-rule. If that's true, moving some calories from evening to morning might give you a higher total metabolism for the day, which I find to be the important aspect.

Another good reason for not eating before sleeping is that when you eat, your intestines will start working to digest the food. This will interfere with your sleep, making it less efficient.
