I have fitness classes this fall (exciting!!), but I'm a little confused about my body fat %.

The beginning of 2003 fall semester, my stomach was 25 (whatever measurements are used in the caliper). My total bf % was 25 I beleive. By the end of the fall semester (December 2003), my stomach went down to 23. My total body fat % was then 23.5 or so, going down as well.

This year, the beginning of this week, my stomach was measured 30! Two days later, it was measured again by a different teacher, and she measured 15! Now, the second one sounds better. But is there that big of a fault done by calipers??

Since last December, I have gone to the gym, I lift, I do cardio, I eat extremely healthy for my age no junk at all! I do not beleive that my stomach would GO UP from 23 last December to 30 this week. Not unless all the saturated fat that I DO eat goes straight to my stomach.

Just a little confused. Which teacher told me the right thing. SHould I get another opinion?? :spaz:

I always believe that you should take the reading that is most favorable :tu:

When it comes to calipers, my guess is that they are both wrong.
It can come down to who is doing the pinching, and where and how that person is doing the pinching.

Don't sweat it. You must have a pretty decent idea of whether you are closer to 20% or 30%.Let the mirror be your guide, not the measurement of a bizarre protractor. If you really want to know your BMI, there are other methods. One of the most reliable being body displacement performed in a tank or pool of water.
