Get it? Tundra? Ice? Penguin?...okay moving on :D

Okay, i've run my mouth enough in the forums, time for me to get in on the challenge thing.

Official Rules and stats to follow.

As is stated right now.

Contest will last 16 weeks
Starting Today August, 31st 2004 lasting untill December 24th 2004 (lol what a great Christmas Present, a new BODY! ) little over 16 weeks but this ends the big eating season.

JUDGING
Judging will entail workout routines, meal plans, strength gains, overall appearance. I trust we can both keep this honest :tu:

The Prize? Well a new body for one, we'll figure out some other little incentives along the way. I think some supplements will be a good start.

We will both post beginning pics front, left and right sides, back, legs, both flexed and unflexed as well as stats (height weight age, bf. etc..)

I see no need to post every week so I say we post once a month, the first of every month.

I had already starting my cutting about a month or so ago, but i'll use my stats from today as the starting point.

as i said these are loose guidlines after my workout tonight i'll give more details.

LET THE GAMES BEGIN!!! :bb: :db:

Howdy, I'm kingink and I recently joined these forums. I hope this contest motivates me and ShadowPenguin to get better results from our efforts. As far as pics go, I will post weekly. I will also take my measurements weekly. I don't want to get too far along and have some part be underdeveloped or overdeveloped. I'll post my workout and hopefully people will be kind enough to advise me.

what are they smoking?

My measurements were done with myotape.
I took three measurements for each body part and averaged them. However, I broke the myotape while trying to measure my shoulders. :/

I have been working out for one month now. I have mainly just tried to get accustomed to lifting and get past the initial soreness. I should have pics up on fotki.com or somewhere by tomorrow.

I recently quit smoking and began trying to eat clean and healthy.
I intend to work out 6 days per week on an upper/lower split. My aerobics will be elliptical or bike for 20min on upper days with 40min lower days.

maybe i shouldn't have started this challenge until after my birthday. i went out and had some beers, 6 of them. my total caloric intake for the day was 3000. That's 800 more kcal than planned. I did do 30 min of bicycling and 15 min of walking. As far as food was concerned I was able to stick to the 40/40/20 and ate six meals total at three hour intervals throughout the day. ;)

do i smell victory already? :D

heres how i think we should track our routines and meal plans, downloadable Excel spreadsheets, posted each week. If you have any other suggestions let me know. This is probably the only area i'll slack in, sticking to the routines and my meals is no problem i'm used to it already....recording them is a different story

I haven't been able to do cardio. I am trying to stick to my diet and not really succeeding there. I have improved strength in all of my upper body lifts. I haven't done lower body that involves my calves b/c of pain near where my achilles attaches on the posterior to medial aspect of the calcaneus. I have to buy a digital camera as I can't borrow one anymore. I'll get my pics up. I am quite disappointed at my physical progress but am happy that the health benefits of excercise and diet are showing up. I did lose a couple of pounds and I hope that they weren't muscle. :) I started out at 252 on Aug. 1. I weighed in this morning at 238. I feel stuck.

I'll post pics as soon as I get a camera.

hey man PM if you're having problems with the nutrition aspect....thats the hardest part BY FAR bro...i'll tell you how i'm handling...pretty well I think so far. Its a challenge but that doesnt mean we cant help each other.

DONT GET DISCOURAGED EITHER!!! thats why we made this a long challenge, think about how you'll feel come september.

I erased my pics for this month so its gonna have to wait till next month.

well, finally not sick or injured or sick and injured.

did measurements on bodycomp.com
i lost a few pounds. i now weight 236#. i started this craziness in august at 254#. It isn't as dramatic as some but better than nothing. my labwork on cholesterol and other stuff came back much better. i
only lost an inch off of my waist and an inch off of my adbomen. i am now back in the gym. i figure even if i don't reach my goals this time i can keep working towards them. :)

I still need to lose another 36# - 41# of fat. :/

same here, i had the flu for like 2 weeks and it kept me off my game for that long. Thankfully my injury (pulled a muscle in my back) healed up during that time and i'm back in full swing.

Taking my running program VERY slowly, i dont want the setbacks i had last time....one week on one week off....next week i'm back up to three miles...the goal being five then I work on speed.

This time i'm also making it a point to train my legs the way i should be in the gym to keep them strong on the off weeks because pulled hamstrings and shin splints SUCK!!!!

IF this little challenge of our doesnt produce the best results come Christmas we do a rematch :tu: but dont give up on this one...we still have a little over a month to go my friend.
