Hi Guys,

I'd like to recommend to you the Diet Power Software for tracking your weight and nutrition. You can find it at www.dietpower.com (http://www.dietpower.com). They have a 15 day trial and I think you'll find it very helpful.

My wife started using it a few years ago when she got tired of the lowfat/lowcarb/lowtaste/lowsmarts diets that she seemed to be perpetually on. She found the software and it helped her trully understand what she was putting into her body. It helped her limit her calorie intake while still eating tasty and nutritious stuff.

It has an extensive food database, as well as the ability to enter all of your specialty and custom foods into it. It will help you track your excercise and your daily weight, and vitamin and mineral intakes. If you choose to use the function, it will also regulate your calorie intake for you by helping you set long term goals, then adjusting your calorie count daily, based on your weight progress. It ramps your calorie allowance up or down based on how your weight loss is doing.

My wife was successful in losing a good amnount of weight with it and keeping it off. She did so well that my Dad and Mom started using it and they lost a lot of weight also.

Because I'm an ectomorph and burn calories like crazy, I have been using it to monitor my daily nutritional intake and charting it. I have set my weight to be even across the board so that I don't gain or lose anything while I'm starting my workout routines. I looked into doing a spreadsheet like John's but this software is so much easier and less time consuming. It's really help my understand what goes into my body.

The newest version (4.0)will allow you to enter in up to 6 custom trackable variables. This will allow you to track your measurements along with your weight. Some people would track blood pressure while others (weight lifters) would track other body measurements like waist, chest arms and legs.

The only drawback that I have seen with it is that it won't export the charts or stats. I'm currently trying to find a way to export the charts to be able to post them on the net. The best way I have found so far is to take a screen shot.

It takes a while to get into the routine of tracking your daily food intake, but if you're here, you've thought about becoming commited to better health anyway. I think this software can help a lot of people. If anyone has any questions, let em fly!

looks good.

but I like www.fitday.com

it is FREE and since it is an online data base, I can log in from work or from a friends house, or if out of town - no problem.
you can track your diet from anywhere.
it is easy, fast and customizable.

I sure hope it reamins free. I have sworn by it since I started dieting 5 months ago!

DietPower is great! I've tried a few, and am a nutrition consultant.
You can see the results of your intake with just one click - - - in table form, or as a bar chart. Tracks all vitamins & minerals, and has a water reminder.
I enter my client's intake, then print off the info for them to read. They are always surprised at the results.
Their help feature is especially informative.
This software has more going for it than the $395.00 one that I just returned.
