Hey all

I'm new to this forum, so I'll start out with a 'howdy' to you all! :)

I'm a poor student so I haven't bought myself a pulsar watch yet, so I cannot measure my heart rate. I'm counting on getting one at my 19th birthday this October though.

But in the mean time I have a little question: I've heard many people say that one should do moderate-high speed on the stationary bike for about 40-60 minutes, but my question is how fast is this? I can only measure what I'm doing in RPMs as it is now, and I'm on average of about 95 RPM at a moderate resistance level. Is this an appropriate speed? If someone would do me the favour to look at their RPMs next time they're riding the stationary bike, I'd be very grateful.

Thanks in advance,

Regards from Denmark,
Jacob

P.S. This forum is great. :claplow:

Measuring your ability versus someone elses is probably not the best way to go. Optimal exercise is very goal dependant, but I typically perfer Intervals over steady state cardio. However if you want to spin for an hour, just pick an intensity(effort level) that is moderatly difficult that you can sustain for the desired time. Don't kill yourself(espically starting out), but you probably need to do more than a walk in the park.

I typically spin at 95-100 rpm for my 60 minutes of morning cardio. The resistance level is set by the bike to keep me at my target heartrate.
