Hey guys, I'm 18 and I haven't ran in a while. But I'll tell you the whole story.

I woke up at my friends house, didn't have anything to eat. And decided I'll jog home. I began jogging after about a minute after running I started feeling light headed, and I kept running but my legs felt out of control and wobbly (while I was running) it was even hard to stop...I was not running fast either. The weird thing is, even when I eat something this occurs. I don't smoke, and I'm not obiese and I'm not scrawny. One of my friends was telling me that it's a possibility that I'm not getting enough oxygen to the head/brain. I dont get this feeling when I bike, or workout (weightlift). If you guys could leave me a logical response that'd be awesome :) thanks.

Hmm dehidration comes to mind, but I'm no doctor so I can't say for sure.

Probably dehydration, but what do you eat? Try 16 oz of Gatorade and a powerbar or equivalent (high GI) beforehand (say 15-30 mins). If you still have the problem I'd see a doctor. Otherwise it is either low blood sugar or dehydration.
I've found that since I have lost fat, I'm prone to low blood sugar and can get faint if I'm exercising and haven't eaten enough carbs. Although I can run on an empty stomach first thing in the morning, I'm carful to eat often during the day (5-6 meals).

Alright, sounds good guys. Thanks for all your responses. I think it maybe because of low blood sugar or dehydration. I went biking the other day on empty stomach for about and hour and a half, doh I hate myself sometimes heh. And I felt the same symtoms and in fact I felt like I couldnt keep balance on my bike...and I haven't had that kind of feeling since I started learning how to ride it.

NEdge I also have lost a lot of fat so I think I will take into consideration about what you said.

Thanks everyone :tu: :D

That's what we in the mtn. biking biz call "bonking"

it is a huge drop in blood sugar. just make sure you fuel up before doing excercise like that!
