View Full Version : Haha: Women's silver medalist in all around gymnastics is pissed!
Skoorb August 23rd, 2004, 12:33 PM I knew she was a nasty person! Link (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2004/olympics/2004/gymnastics/08/22/bc.olympics.gymnastics.khorkina/index.html?cnn=yes). She's very bitter, but you know she should have put less effort into getting the gold, and more effort into eating. If a gymnist has ever had an eating disorder, it's her.

whiner.
I watched almost all of her routines and i didnt think she even deserved silver. And geez i bet that littl eff up on her dismount for the uneven bars REALLY merrited a gold.
simon.karlsson August 23rd, 2004, 04:10 PM Yeah, perhaps she was abit thin, but I think itīs hard to compete with 16 year old representatives weighing barely 40 kg.... I mean after all this sport is about fighting gravity in a way.
I was  all weekend though..... like theese people are just soooo damn hot!!! (not the little chineese girls, they were just cute and SMALL) )
pepito33 August 23rd, 2004, 07:45 PM This thread is just so full of crap. This woman has been one of the greatest gymnasts of the last decade, and I really don't see the point in making up things about supposed eating disorders (which is not a matter to be treated lightly btw).
Maybe she should've said things in another way, but the fact is that something's worng with this olympics' gymnastics scores. It's funny that you comments on her fall in parallel bars when something similar happened to Paul Hamm and he did get the gold.
Btw Simon, we're talking about 16-years-old non-sexually developed girls who weigh 35 kg, they shouldn't be hot ;(

first off chill.
second, Paul Hamm did fall, but then came back with virutally FLAWELSS performances to EARN that gold.
Anyone could tell Kornikova was simply NOT on top of her game.
Noone is taking away antying from her past career, what we are saying THIS TIME AROUND she simply did not do it. Gymnasts have a short shelf life, especially their peak performance times.
and you all but called Simon a friggin PEDOPHILE, i think that comment was out of line. I'll agree with him, some of these chicks are SMOKING HOT, AND they happen to sixteen...big friggin deal.

First off: Hi there :)
Second, a gymnast who makes such a mistake can't win the overall contest, it's just that simple. The korean gymnasts were much more regular.
Third, the judges have already admitted they made a mistake with the score they gave the korean who won the silver medal. They are not taking away Hamm's medal because they have a rule against modyfing the scores given during the championship, but morally that gold does not belong to him.
Fourth, Kournikova plays tennis. Svetlana Korkhina is a gymnast.
Fifth, I don't think I called anyone a pedophile. It just shocked me to find out ppl would actually see those gymnasts as being hot, that's it.
Sixth and last, see you :)

Skoorb August 23rd, 2004, 09:15 PM Re: Hamm, they may give a second gold to the SKorean guy.
Re: Russian chick. Yes, she has an eating disorder. You don't need to be a doctor to see it, and whether it should be something not said lightly or other, just look at her. It's a well known fact that gymnists have a very high prevalence of eating disorders. They themselves, and their coaches, push them very hard. In a sport full of anorexics you can't for a moment pretend that the _thinnest_ and sickest of the lot (out of the top ones that were contending for medals) somehow doesn't have an eating disorder. The chick needs a plate of pasta, and a good sleep.
Re: Saying things in a different way. Yes, she sure should have. She's proven in the past that she's a sore and bitter loser. People like her deserve to lose, because they have a loser's attitude. The Canadian who won gold on the floor, barely edging out the Romanian - notice how they hugged? That's a good attitude. Slighting the gold medal winner (as Sticky did), when she tries to congratulate her is total garbage.
Re: Their looks. I pesonally like the huge weightlifter chicks (kidding!) :D

supirman August 23rd, 2004, 10:59 PM She's simply bitter. She was outperformed that night. There is no major conspiracy against her by the judges.
Paul Hamm is a great gymnast and he deserved the medal. Sure, he blundered his vault, but nearly all of the other competitors above him messed up in the following events. You can't deny that he DID overcome adversity and perform GREAT performances when he had to.
All the other countries just hate on the US because we have the most medals -[insert sarcasm] but we didn't earn any of them, the judges just give them to us.
ShadowPenguin August 23rd, 2004, 11:01 PM Fourth, Kournikova plays tennis. Svetlana Korkhina is a gymnast.
ugh, you win. I can't make a mistake like that and expect to put up an intelligent fight, hey john how about a smiley waving white flag? :o
pepito33 August 23rd, 2004, 11:49 PM You can't deny that he DID overcome adversity and perform GREAT performances when he had to.
ROFL @ he overcame adversity. His heroic demonstration of the American spirit was so epic I was about to cry. Paul Hamm's not just a fighter who would do anything to chase his dream, he truly is a hero who embodies the spirit of a whole country.
Dude, Lance Armstrong overcame adversity, this guy couldn't perform 2 vaults correctly in the olympic finals and won a gold medal because some judges wouldn't get a calculator to do their maths.
Besides, there is evidence showing he got help from the judges. Notice how one of them is helping him to get up.

I think the judge is just trying to protect his water. ;)
slowpoke August 24th, 2004, 09:19 AM The korean gymnasts were much more regular.
That's because they get more fiber.
TheRyanator August 24th, 2004, 11:01 AM Slowpoke...you beat me to it...I had the same thought regarding fiber...ha.
Pepito - You have got to be kidding me...you are using that pic to show EVIDENCE that the judge is helping him get up? Paul is still in mid-fall in that pic and the judge is doing what any person who has any reflexes at all would do. It is clear the judge is trying to keep Paul from rolling onto the table.
HobbesAB August 24th, 2004, 11:46 AM You want hot? Forget the gymnasts and check out Jenny finch - now that there is what we call one fine lookin' American woman
HobbesAB August 24th, 2004, 11:48 AM Just to add more fuel to the fire:
HobbesAB August 24th, 2004, 11:48 AM OK - hijack over
Skoorb August 24th, 2004, 01:04 PM I'm still laughing at the pic shadow posted, of the crying baby :)

Hope it's helped! :tu:
AMR August 24th, 2004, 03:11 PM FACTS about Paul Hamm:
1. He is a great gymnast
2. When he won the gold for the all around the first word out of his mouth was "no". He couldn't believe it himself.
3. He has no control over what the judges do so he is not to blame.
4. He sounds like a chipmunk hopped up on hellium.

TheRyanator August 24th, 2004, 03:22 PM I dont see the irony implied in your statement ("Besides, there is evidence showing he got help from the judges. Notice how one of them is helping him to get up." ), but whatever you say Pepto, you know how to use a dictionary so you must be correct.
My mistake :tu:
simon.karlsson August 25th, 2004, 01:08 PM Haha!, Funny thread!. :claphigh:
:)
ShadowPenguin August 25th, 2004, 01:22 PM Svetlana Khorkina and Russian President Vladimir Putin held a press conference earlier today to respond to the alleged robbery of Khorkinas gold medal at the Olympics last week.
Here is an exclusive picture from the press conferance

badgolfer August 25th, 2004, 02:07 PM Khorkina said before she even started the competition that the winner was already chosen and it wasnt her. how could she expect to win with an attitude like that. those legs do make her look sickly so if she had some type of eating disorder I would not be surprised. Every time she loses she cries about it and refuses to admit that the athletes that put up higher scores are better than her. Her antics will not be missed.
AMR August 25th, 2004, 02:34 PM I'm probably in the minority here but I think that Svetlana Khorkina is kinda hot. And no wonder she's bitter, did you guys see the run down training facility that she trains in. Nothing like what we have here in the States.

CASD August 27th, 2004, 05:09 PM Okay I'll admit it.. I thought Carly was "HOT" and at least you know Gatlin and Hamm wasn't on test :)
Gatlin sounded almost as bad as Hamm..
corbint August 27th, 2004, 05:38 PM not sure what sport SHE participates in, but i need to become a spectator of it!
