View Full Version : Pooping

I used to eat a lot of fast food. At least 8 meals a week was either taco bell or wendys. The impact this had on my digestive system was horrible. I would poop like maybe every 4 days. Sometimes longer. Then there would always be that one day where my system would say ok, today is the day and I would have these marathon poop sessions numerous times in one day. I honestly thought that this was just the way it was supposed to be.

Since I've been using this site and have changed my diet there has been a huge and welcome change. I now poop every day usually before 9:30am. I feel so healthy.

I still eat fast food every once in a while but no where near as much as I did before.

Here's a sample menu for healthy pooping.

7:00am 1 bowl of raisin bran with 1% milk
9:30am 1 protein plus power bar or.
12:30pm grilled chicken salad from McDonalds or Subway <---- fast food
1:30pm an apple
3:30pm 2 servings of reduced fat cottage cheese.
4:30pm a banana
5:30pm 20 multi grain saltines or pretzles
6:30pm grilled chicken with Rice and green beans.

I try to drink about 1 gallon of water a day. I also sometimes have a non-diet Dr. Pepper <----- my weakness.

So anyway, my colon thanks all of you for your diet and healthy eating advice. :eat:

My movements have been pretty bizarre for me too. I can get up at 6, go sit on the toilet, and nothing. I then shower, get ready for work, eat and get to work at 7. An hour later *BAM*. It all hits at once.

Every day @ 8:30. I can set my watch by it. I also eat 2-2.5 times RDA of fiber though. Occasionally I'll have a 2-a-days where it is 8:30 and around 5.

I had to click on this thread...lol

Only thing I have to add is that I'm making a big "adjustment", so to speak, going from cutting to bulking...

Seems like the restroom is my second home.

lol, this is great.

every day as soon as i get home from work, either 5 pm or 6:30pm. Soon as i step foot in the door. like clockwork.

also it seems like 10 minutes after i eat one of my main meals there it goes again.

For me it's every morning within the first couple of hours (coffee helps to move things along), and then after that anywhere from 1-3 more that day. This on 1800 calories/day.

Well, I must say that I've seen a noticeable difference in the pooping department during the last few weeks that I've been eating clean.

Before my stomach was quite, shall we say, "loose" and eating the breakfast triggered always quite a movement... The toilet sessions could last 10...20 minutes.

But nowadays the poop is quite "dry" and consistent and easy to dump. And I'm usually in and out from the toilet in <5 minutes and that's it.

Whew,

I just have to say that I was VERY reluctant to read a thread titled "Pooping" with an attachment icon next to it.

Meh, curiosity becomes me.

Well, I do it once every 1.5 days I guess, but when I was on a vegan diet, whooooaaaa that was a lot of pooping.2 times a day usually, but during the first 2 weeks it was easily 3-4 times until my body adapted to the ammount of fiber I was having.

That only works if you have a scale accurate to .1 lbs or less. Most scales round to the nearest pound or half pound, and 200g is just short of a half pound. :p

Fortunately I just bought this scale (http://products.consumerguide.com/cp/family/review/index.cfm/id/23531).

I go 1 or 2 times a day. If i cheat , i'm like the other poster, takes about 3 days to eliminate everything ..then wham! Not mention being gassed up for a couple of days...ever smell Met-Rx mixed with mexican food! HAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!

Boy, these moments of caring and sharing really bring a tear to my eye. The casting out of societal barriers and arbitrary mores as we all get together in a beautiful and intimate experience of deep interconnectedness by sharing our poop stories just chokes me up every time. http://smiley.onegreatguy.net/cry2.gif Now let's hold hands and sing kumbaya.

Poop obsession is so universal I think it could bring peace on earth.

Last summer I went on a boat trip in the Indonesian jungle. Late at night, me and my gf were sitting in our sleeping bags on the deck, while the Indonesian captain and cook were lying on the deck below. Me and my gf were quietly talking about the adventures of that day, when suddenly I let one rip. I don't know why, but the quietness of the jungle combined with the wooden boards I was sitting on made it sound so loud it was amazing.

The four of us had to laugh so hard, we all cried!

I just want to know:

Does it lower your testosterone or energy levels if you take a crap b/4 your workout? Should you hold it until afterwards if you have to go before your workout? :D

Please conduct proper research and report back.

I've read in the past that this all depends on the "squeeze" factor. Consistency counts. For example, if you're poop is toothpaste texture it doesn't burn as much energy to expell as would a harder poop. :D
Therefore I would assume it's ok to sueeze a soft poop pre- workout.

We're just not gonna let this go huh.
OK, my thoughts on fasted poop. Not enough substance. Just a little more than a fart. In my opinion it can lead to overtraining of the anal sphincter which is bad mmmmkay. :D

Actually, I usually push my feet against the sides of the stall for leverage (during the more intense intestinal battles) in a lateral faux squat position which functionally maximizes both quads and hammies during the more strenuous and perilous key moments. This "stimulation" also spawns additional test and HGH production and is better for overall development. http://smiley.onegreatguy.net/flush.gif http://smiley.onegreatguy.net/flush.gif http://smiley.onegreatguy.net/flush.gif http://smiley.onegreatguy.net/flush.gif http://smiley.onegreatguy.net/flush.gif

sorry for interrupting the fun.
I'm seeing a lot of change since I've been eating healthier in this area.
Is it normal to do this once a day?
is it normal to be somehow really regular around the time you do it?

I though the normal was once every other day.like 4 or 5 times a week?

feeling rather :o for asking these questions

Nothing wrong with a daily poop lol. Ever since I've been eating like a mad cow, I have had to take a crap after taking a crap. Slightly annoying to say the least, but there's nothin' like cleaning the ol' colon while reading the latest on Pig Boy in the Esquire.

I'm pushing an average of four times/day right now, on 3600 calories/day and a good bit of fibre. I don't know if I ever hit five, but I rarely hit as little as 2 and only sometimes 3. As a kid I remember once going 5 days, back in grade 10.

I'm reasonably regular, too, starting off early and then it tapers down as the day gets on.
