I was wondering why people say to stay away from this so I did a simple search. Here are a few articles saying that it is far worse than regular sugar to eat. So be careful if it is one of the top three ingredients and there are more than 2-3 grams of sugar. It affects the liver and slows down the fat burning process.

Here's an article from, surprise, high fructose corn syrup facts.com. It argues that sucrose and HFCS are made up of the same thing so they are both equally good/bad for you. Of course it doesn't site any medical studies as the others do.

I'm gonna stay away.

And who ever thought of getting syrup form corn anyway? Honestly, who was compelled to do that?

Works out nicely for the food industry, and the US FDA labeling requirements. You can load up some processed flour thing with HFCS and still call in "Fat Free"!!!
