I'm not talking about instant hot chocolate mix with powdered milk solids, just plain cocoa powder. A single serving, 5g, adds great flavor to anything, especially slightly bland protein shakes. My brand, morinaga (a japanese brand) has 1.1g fat (probably saturated) .95g of protein, .7 g of carbs, and 1.5g fiber in a 5g serving. I think its 18 calories. IMHO, That's a small trade for such a huge flavor boost! And you get a little bit of fiber, too!

My brand says its approx. 25% cocoa butter. Probably cocoa powders with a higher cocoa butter content will have more calories so be careful! A little goes a long way. Enjoy in moderation, of course! Its nice to put into one of your daily shakes.

I use non flavored whey as I hate sweetners.
so yes, a spoon full of cocoa is a great way to make a chocolate protein shake.
Or I blend in real fruit for days when I don't feel like chocolate.
