Sorry for the confusion. I'm not sure if this makes sense or not, but he looks like he has the type of perfect body that you couldn't work to get. For example, if I wanted to look like a really muscular woman, I just have to keep lifting weights, but if I want to look like Angelina, I'm out of luck. Her greatest assets (long lean legs, big breasts) aren't things that are achievable by spending hours in the gym. I have a feeling it's the same way with that guy. I think he looks great, but it's not an easily imitatable look. (Yeah, maybe he has wimpy legs, but who cares?) #91 November 8th, 2005, 01:33 PM Sorry for the confusion. In general, I think people prefer broader shoulders but it's not a rule. You can still have broad shoulders and look like a deformed frog. The guy in the picture, Rafael Verga, has the muscle proportions I'd looove to have. I also agree with guava that you can't just "copy" somebody's body any time you want, but in this case I believe the proportions could be achieved by a lot of people - not saying I can do that - not talking about his face. Just work smarter by focusing on the activities that are most profitable. We have the tools to get started today such as swolecat's services, some supplements, etc. I'm 29 now, 5'10 and i think i can look close enough to timberwolf by the time i am 37. No where did I say she couldn't be posted here. I said I don't believe that she belongs among a celebration of fit bodies. She's not fit. She has that obvious, softer "model" look to her body. Put her up against an off-season picture of Monica Brant and I'll take Monica any day and twice on Sunday. A flat tummy is one thing, a toned tummy is another. She is the former of the two. no where does it say "post pictures of people that worked hard to achive their bodies" I value hard work over blessed genetics. Eva's hot, and I wouldn't kick her outta bed (except to roll around on the floor with her for a while)... but she's still not "fit", if'n you ask me, and you didn't. Throwing Eva Longoria into the mix makes this look like more leg-humping of another dime-a-dozen hottie rather than a compendium of perfect bodies. Well, this thread is for what people consider "perfect bodies", not "the most fit". If that were the case, most people posted here wouldn't belong. Personally, I would take the body of an FHM/Maxim cover model any day of the week over someone like Monica Brant. I saw those pics Chris posted and I find her hideous. If that were the case, most people posted here wouldn't belong. This being a message board centered around fitness, I make inferences that posts such as these might be geared towards fitness. Silly me. So be it; I don't care what anyone's preference is... that's a personal thing and will always vary greatly. I've made many poor inferences that this board is geared towards fitness of late and rather than be perturbed by it, I'd rather step back and soak in the interesting human interactions that occur in these forums. And interesting they are. I find it funny that many men in this thread find fitter women less attractive because of the musculature they themselves aspire to. The boys all want to be ripped and have the Eva Longorias on their arm. Having been up-close-and-personal with females built like Monica Brant, I can tell you with no uncertainty that those girls don't feel like steel... they don't feel hard. They feel like any other girl you've been with. They're just more toned in appearance. -R Coachese December 9th, 2005, 04:55 PM I find it funny that many men in this thread find fitter women less attractive because of the musculature they themselves aspire to. -R I don't...I find her face to be be the unattractive part about her, not her biceps in comparison with mine. I was commenting more on the concept that often in threads like this people tend to criticize physical traits of people in pics that in reality if they were approached by the same person in the pic they would not make the same comments/judgement for many different reasons. Too bad he wasted his potential by shooting four people to death with a shotgun (and one woman in the face) just to acquire a paltry sum of money. Too bad he also started the crips street gang which resulted in hundreds of deaths. Unless you've been living in a cave, most of you are probably aware that as of about 3 hours ago, he was duly executed. Not a nice man. He was strong though ... he claimed he could bench press 600 pounds and when he was arrested for his crimes, he broke 3 sets of handcuffs. He finally had to be drugged so that his restraints could hold him. He didn't work his legs AT ALL though....and so, his legs were about as big as your average couch potato's legs. One prison official I heard interviewed said that the contrast between his upper and lower body made him look really bizarre. Ironically, Arnold, who turned down Tookie's clemency plea, met Tookie in the 70's. Apparently Arnold was with a female companion when he ran across Tookie. He pointed to Tookie's arms and said: "You see those? Those aren't arms, they are legs!" I agree. I think the majority of people who are "big" like the picture in question will have above average athletic talents and be by no means slow. Additionally, we know that the guy is a powerlifter (in fact I believe he's a very highly ranked one) so, with all his fat cut off, we know he has an amazing amount of strength (and size) in his legs even though his upper-body is that big. I think that definitely facilitates some serious sprinting speed and amazing power. Is it worth renting some evening for cheap entertainment? wh0rume January 21st, 2006, 04:20 PM good movie. it's more of a character study of a soldier than a "war movie" worth seeing. -Ice- January 21st, 2006, 09:16 PM I haven't seen this movie, but heard a couple reviews...your thoughts? Is it worth renting some evening for cheap entertainment? I had been looking forward to it for the past few months so my expectations were high. Wow. Simply amazing movie. Kind of falls somewhere between FMJ, Platoon and Tigerland for how it approaches the war film, with a fair bit of time in basic training, moving on to the war zone and then in combat. Jake Gyllenhaal is unbelievable. I'd always really rated him as an actor but this is without doubt his best performance to date. Peter Saarsgard is also outstanding, and Jamie Foxx is totally believable as a staff sargeant. It shows a lot of the Iraq war that hasn't really been shown much (Three Kings wasn't really even a war movie) - the oil cleanup, the boredom, the tension and the comedown when coming home. The pacing of the movie was fantastic, and even though it clocks in at over two hours I was sitting tensely on the edge of my seat for all of that. Don't go in expecting an all action blockbuster, as that's not what this movie is like (there are very few deaths during the film) - it's more of a thoughtful film about war and what the soldiers go through (very much like Tigerland). I highly recommend this movie to anyone remotely interested in the war genre. 9/10 #91 January 22nd, 2006, 07:33 PM here's my contribution, like this relaxed, slightly bigger upper body.. wishful thinking?? http://spa.fotologs.net/photo/58/34/55/brotherbrow/1134939180_f.jpg karatetricker January 22nd, 2006, 08:07 PM here's my contribution, like this relaxed, slightly bigger upper body.. wishful thinking?? http://spa.fotologs.net/photo/58/34/55/brotherbrow/1134939180_f.jpg Must be one skinny guy... #91 January 23rd, 2006, 12:43 AM ya think? i think his arms look full and pecs be worked on his abs are pretty ripped i only assumed he was relaxed as i have no freakin clue, could you explain what you meant though? 1FastGTX January 23rd, 2006, 02:36 AM ya think? i think his arms look full and pecs be worked on his abs are pretty ripped i only assumed he was relaxed as i have no freakin clue, could you explain what you meant though?
