I know it's only been going a few days, but come on. Medal Tracker (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/olympics/2004/medaltracker/medalTrackerByTotal.html). Canada sent almost 300 athletes to these games and can't even scrounge up a bronze, whereas Australia - a smaller country - already has 10. Heck, even Cubas has two.
While I'm at it, shame on Great britain as well. One medal? Get with the program, boys and girls!
The two best showings I've seen by Canada so far was in rowing and the US beat them out just at the last moment to get into the finals, and then on the women's bike race something - God alone knows what - compelled the top Canadian rider in the race to go out ahead by herself for a long period of time, all the while a small back behind her was drafting and keeping up energy. Needless to say she go reeled in and spat out the back by the end of the race.
Am I jumping the gun? Have the first sports just been ones in which Canada is historically poor, and it will catch up later?
