Hello All,

I have really enjoyed reading this forum. I hope this hasn't been covered in a thread I missed. I was wondering if anyone had an opinion of the BP eatinig for life cook book. I have been incorporating some of the recipies in my diet for about 2 months. They are great, but I'm concerned about the generous portion sizes and ingredients. If you are familiar with the book, do you think it could be part of a realistic cutting/fat loss program? Thanks.

This all depends on which recipes you're using, how much you're eating, when you're eating it and so forth...In my opinion, nearly any food or dish has a place in a cutting diet, so long as its used in the right way...for example, there are good ways and bad ways to make pizza, so to say that pizza has no place in a cutting diet would give the wrong impression even though perhaps Dominos or Pizza Hut would have little place in a cutting diet. I don't have the book myself, but I'd be interested to learn which recipes you're using...I started on the BP BFL program a long time ago, and I think its an excellent starter for cutting.

Generous portion sizes? I haven't read the book, but I think I remember him saying a portion size was as big as a clenched fist. Has he changed that approach for this book, or is this apples & oranges? :)

I know the first few weeks of BFL I wanted to get one of those big foam #1 fingers and use that for my clenched fist! :lol:

I don't think you have to worry about the generous portion sizes. BFL is structured around eating clean foods. If you look at their list of foods which you should be incorporating into their meals you'll see that they are clean sources.

EFL is a decent book. And yes it goes by the same rules that BFL recommends - clenched fist, etc. However it does irritate me somewhat that they don't list Protein/Carbs/Fat/Calories for each meal.

It does have a huge plethora of recipes from sandwiches to complete dinners to desserts.

I have used a lot of the recipes in this book myself but I generally try to figure out the protein/carb/fat/calories for each meal before cooking them. I also do try to add a little more protein to a lot of the meals.
