I know this is my first post and all but trust me, I've been lurking for awhile. I gotta say I think Mr. John Stone might be slippin' with his dedication to diet. I been reading alot of his daily updates and he seems to be having little pizza feasts a whole lot.

Just an observation...NOW FLAME ON!!!!

slipping as compared to a year of nothing but clean food? or slipping compared to your daily diet??

I think you may have analysed the spirit of this forum completely wrong if you make a post, seemingly expecting to be flamed for it. This is a friendly community and I think that this forum prides itself on that fact. If you want to start threads solely for flaming purposes then I suggest you join up to bodybuilding.com or getbig.com.

Just my thoughts.

This isn't flaming another forum?

I would have said this was merely stating a fact.

I have been more lax with my diet this summer, yes, but it has not been enough to cause any significant amount of fat gain. I'm happy and healthy and enjoying the benefits of being in shape and having a fairly nice physique. One of the benefits of working out a lot and eating healthy most of the time is that I can now indulge a bit more if I like. I'm not a bodybuilder or an Olympic athlete, after all. I'm just a normal guy.

My diet is out there for the whole world to read. I don't hide anything. I'm human just like everyone else and do the best that I can to remain healthy and in shape and still have some kind of balance in my life.

I'm not sure what you are trying to accomplish with your post. Seems to me you are just trying to be an ass - not the best way to welcome yourself to the forums. You won't make many friends here that way, but I suspect you don't care much about that.

Nice try, but I award you zero points.

I think the guy was just trying to be fun. I have also seen John's diet slip into more cheat days. Sure it is fun to give him a little junk about it, but that is all it is. Simple fun from a new poster.

John deserves some cheat days. Maybe just a little nudging from the populace to give it some attention is needed, maybe it is not, but I don't believe the guy wa trying to be mean spirited.

I don't think any "points" are awarded for cheating either. Just my .02 that no one cares about. Cheat on John!

If you really believe that then you're extremely naive.

It's all about context. If someone I actually know, like a corbint or a duckman, wanted to give me a little ribbing about my diet then it would be taken as such because I have a history with them - I "know" them. When a new user with whom I have no relationship comes in and on his first post makes pointless comments and then signs off "Flame on", it's quite clear that his intentions were to troll. What he posted was rude - period. Making excuses for overt rudeness is ridiculous.

Um, yeah, he really looks like he's slippin' in his pics.

Put your pics and diet up here for all the world to read before you launch criticisms.

And once you've lost the bodyfat and built the muscle mass, your body can sustain more "cheat meals" anyway. Not to mention that a veggie pizza and a couple of glasses of wine are hardly a catastrophic "cheat meal" anyway. It's not like a bag full of McDLT's and fries.

I think that once you get down there(into maintince phase), and make sure you keep a good maintinace plan, it wont be an issue. I know I've let things slip at times, and although I might not advance physicly, I think it's a necesity mentaly to maintain a fit lifestyle. You've been doing good Knubb... I'm sure it'll work the same way for you as well.

John... I commend you on your civilized approach of response to the skewd view of this thread. :tucool:

I suppose I am just a cup full type of guy. The guy ribbed ya a bit. Maybe it is just his way. Maybe he is a troll ridin', attention seeking Usenet fool. I really don't know. I don't take to assumed context so quickly, but then you know your business.

I just choose not to judge so harshy so quickly. I suppose I am not one to jump in and say it was rude based on what I really don't know. But you said it. I must just be "extremely naive".

Have a nice day.

All John Stone has done by cheating more is the same thing he has done since he started the site- BE HONEST. He didn't do this site/forum to make money or to be an inspiration to others(although he certainly certainly is)- he did it to keep track of his progress and keep motivated. (at least that's what I understand)

John's diet has never been perfect, imo, and neither has mine. You should strive towards eating all clean foods, but if you are generally clean but restrict calories, like John does, you're fine.

.

He really puts it on the line with pictures. I bet there are few trainers and pro bodybuilders that would do it. Just the act of taking and posting a picture a day would be more than most could handle. So many of us might post a few pictures that look good, but to do it every day. That is something!

the only probly have i have with john's cheating, is that he doesnt eat anything other than PIZZA!

Oh now you've done it. Creative thinking about cheat meals should be outlawed on this forum ;)

I wish I could have a few cups of something and a small pizza for a cheat meal once a week like john. Whenever I cheat I can't control it and just eat everything!

perhaps do some cardio for like an hour(before your cheat), cut calories a bit in the day, and cheat only every 2-4weeks, that should be good damage control
thats what im doing next week! gotta try and control myself as i really like italian food, and there is going to be plenty available next week for me :D

chrashley, you must be a newbie :p

There is nothing more benificial to a diet than the cheat meal. Used properly it's a very effective tool. I had pizza last night because Im training legs today. Fill those glycogen and leptin levels beyond capacity and watch out :bb: Strong as an ox and crazy muscle fullness and pumps. I'd recommend cheat meals every 3-4 days. Try it and see how your metabolism revs up. Nothing like prolonged diet to hinder results  Yes thats right. Your metabolism will slow to a crawl before long! :eat: Now eat up John and enjoy the results :tucool:

BTW, jealousy gets us no where

For What Its Worth, I was equally impressed seeing John's Cheat meals discipline as I was with the initial whole cut

At least for me it is a lot easier to say I am not going to eat anything bad than controlling portions of bad food.

show some respect would ya?

i'm not saying anyone should follow John like hes a fitness mesiah, and I know thats exactly what he doesnt want. Hes a regular guy that had more brass than you'll ever have to change his life. For that he has my respect.

after the the transformation he has done, his diet is not up for ridicule or review, especially by the likes of you.

i'll take the low road here....

you are such an effing tool

have a nice day you douche :gl:Please don't make things worse by getting yourself in trouble for breaking the forum rules. You know I can't allow posts like yours, even when they are directed at people I don't particularly care for.

While I appreciate your support, I would appreciate it even more if it were expressed without resorting to name calling. Thanks.

I recall reading his transformation about a year ago and he'd mentioned how over several months he'd had something like only a couple of beer and a real treat to him was some low fat popcorn. I knew that it would just be a matter of time before things became more livable, and that's what he's done. Unless your career depends on it, like a pro bodybuilder, very few people will have the long term motivation to eat perfectly, because they realize that there is just no reason to.
