I go to gym after work and the gym is 1 hour away from my house. So it's really difficult for me to have protein shake immediately after workouts. One solution can be ... to prepare the shake (water and whey protein) in the morning and take it with me. But I go out from home at 7:30 am and I finish my workouts around 08:00 pm. I am not sure whether it would be wise to drink the shake after around 12 hours. It may  turn bad!!!
how long protein shake stays ok?

Not sure on how long it stays stable. But one solution is to get a shaker and just put the powder in and when you are done add some water from a fountain.

I like to have one at work sometimes and I usually put a scoop in a shaker bottle and then fill it with water whenever I want. You could do the same by just bringing a small bottle of water.

As has been said, just take your shake's components with you seperately, and combine them when you need to.
I just bought a second shaker bottle today, so that I can load each one up with my whey in the morning, and suck them down at work (with water straight from the cooler) when need be. It sure beats loading one bottle up, then taking a Glad container with the rest of it and having to do a re-load!
