Hi all. Been checking out the forums for a few days now and it has prompted me to think about losing the gym membership and use the money that I have been shelling out every month on a "home gym", anyway, this has prompted a couple of questions.

1) Has anyone used the Prospot equipment?

2) On the racks such as John shows in his gym, can/how does that work for "spotting" (i.e. doing bench press and cant get the last rep up, how is it going to help you from crushing your neck, if it can)

Sorry if the question about the rack is dumb its just that I have never used it before and dont quite understand the benefit.

With the gym equipment that John's got, you should be able to see two horizontal bars on the sides of the rack. If you drop the weight, it will land on these bars instead of your sternum, chest, etc

So would you put the bars about even with your chest, and if you do wouldnt that limit your range of motion? (Talking only about bench press, I can see how it could be used with other exercises).

You shouldn't generally touch your chest with the bar during a bench press anyways, but I would be skeptical if a few inches (there are holes every 3-4 inches or so up and down) would make a tremendous difference. On the other hand, crushing your trachea would make a large difference ;)
