View Full Version : Cottage cheese boredom!
steveh August 13th, 2004, 07:55 AM I know its high in protien, I know its good for me...
But boy am i fed up with cottage cheese! :(
My personal shopper (wife) buys the budget variety that is never flavoured (its a cost thing) and it tastes fine on something, but has anyone got any quick and easy suggestion to "liven" it up and make it more palitable as a snack on its own..
Thank to all in advance
baltis August 13th, 2004, 08:27 AM Yeah, sure... try a little bit of equal and a few sprinkles of cinemon... You won't be getting to much extra content and it taste surprisingly well... considering what it is.
I'm sick of tuna, chicken, cottage cheese, eggs and peanut butter all together... ;)
FerretNose August 13th, 2004, 11:07 AM I put just a hint of sugar-free Smuckers jelly in it- just where I can get a little strawberry flavor. I have also put grapenuts and shredded wheat in cottage cheese.
When I put it on rice cakes, I sprinkle it with salad toppings (a mix of nuts, seasonings and bacon bits (I know thats probably not "clean" but I put very very little). I imagine it would also be good with fresh chives or shredded carrots. I put shredded carrots in my tuna.
I myself am sick to death of tuna, cottage cheese, and such. But, I have noticed that I am developing an aversion to combined foods such as pizza, lasagna, red beans n rice. That's got to be an improvement over my old eating habits, which usually included no breakfast, a po-boy for lunch, and something nasty like hamburger helper for dinner. I have actually grown to despise hamburger helper. I used to wash all that down with several diet cokes.
Regards,
FerretNose

I sprinkle paprika or a little black pepper on it. (paprika is better)

I will eat nothing but cottage cheese for 3 days to try out the suggestion (hey i could call it the cottage cheese diet, write a book like the cabbage guys and make a fortune.)
Just need to get smuckers in the UK now..... or wait until im in the US again in October.
txitalian August 13th, 2004, 12:07 PM I like to stick some nat peanut butter in the microwave for a minute or so, then mix it up with the cottage cheese and microwave it for another minute or 2 until it's creamy. Good stuff.

fantastic I like peanut butter and I like cottage cheese but both together is unbelievable delicious. It`s like you are eating 500 g peanut butter without the many calories.
