I have been eating a lot of salad stuff lately, like lettuce, carrot, tomatoes, celery, beetroot etc etc.
It just dawned on me today that I never see people with salad things in their daily food sheets here. It always vegetables like Broccoli, cabbage etc etc, which I also eat quite a lot of.
Anyway,
Are salad foods OK ?
just thought I had better check in case I am doing something wrong ! :)
Thanks

Salad = good!

Put some grilled chicken on there and it's great!

Just make sure you don't put a fatty dressing on the salad, like bleu cheese or ranch. That defeats the whole purpose. Other than that, load up on the salad fixins! :tucool:

I used to eat a lot of salad until I realized that it just didn't have very many calories in it. I found it difficult to eat a clean salad for lunch as a main dish and still easily meet my calorie quota for the day.

Add chicken or steak to it! :)

Salads are awesome. Remember that iceberg lettuce has very little in it for calories or nutrients, so go with a darker cabbage. Otherwise salads are reasonably filling for their calorie amounts, very healthy, and can be protein rich when chicken is thrown on top.
