Well, I start soccer tomorrow. I'm playing on a six-a-side team, which means that there's 6 people per team (1 goalie and 5 players on the field). Obviously, the field and goals are smaller than a regular soccer game. The halfs are only 20 minutes instead of the normal 45 minutes as well. I was wondering what I should eat, if anything, before soccer. Here's probably what I'm going to eat tomorrow :
6:30 am = Oatmeal
9:00 am - 10:00 am = Banana and 6oz yoplait yogert
12:00pm - 1:00 pm = Turkey sandwich on wheat bread
4:00pm - 5:00 pm = Turkey sandwich on wheat bread (but I'm thinking of making some pasta and eating it instead of the turkey)
7:30 = soccer game
9:00 = Chicken breast with veggies
Of course, I'll be drinking water through out the day. In the past I would eat some pasta an hour or two before I played soccer for energy and that seemed to work. Since this isn't really a full soccer game should I not make pasta and stick with the turkey sandwich? Or maybe I should eat the turkey between 4:00 - 5:00 and eat some pasta at 6:00? What do you guys think is the best thing to eat for energy for a soccer game?
