I've used several calculators to estimate my body fat percentage. I'm currently at 5'10 202lbs and a 34" waist. It says I'm right at 13%. Does that sound about right? When I originally started I was 5'10 226 with a 42" waist. What's the best method to measure the loss? I'd hate to get measured and find out I'm 20% body fat still (shrug).

It is almost impossible to just calculate your BF% with any kind of accuracy. You need to measure with calipers.

I would go and have it professionally done. 13% seems really low unless you have alot of muscle. I'm 6' 203 with a 36 waist and have 23% BF

Like said, 13% does sound a little low at your weight. At 13% BF you should look fairly (approaching "very") different than you did at 20% if your measurements are correct. You might want to take a look at Jeremy's guide to BF%: http://www.naturalphysiques.com/cms/index.php?itemid=144

You may just have a lot of muscle. Generally (and also not based on statistics of any kind), people aren't more than moderately overweight at a 34" waist unless they have abnormally small hips.

Also, if you post a pic on the forums, we can usually estimate your BF% fairly accurately.

Thanks for the tips... I can totally tell the difference in my body from 20 to 13%. My arms/chest/back are more defined, i'm gettin that v-shape down my sides, my love handles are less pronounced, i still have a bit of squish/loose skin down there (was obese for a long time). A lot of people in my family are "swole", coming from euro stock. I'm starting to see shape in my abs on the top part, lower abs still obfuscated by "squishies".. though my stomach is flat. My legs/arms/back have lil to no fat on them visually.

Maybe i'll grab a pair of calipers and try jeremy's site..

THanks.

Btw, I looked at Jeremy's pics. I'm nearly the same build as he is. His pics/progress looked/look similiar to how I look. I'll have to take a picture and post it.. (kinda embarassed cuz i'm not at my goal yet). But anyhow :)
