It may be helpful for a short while, but I wouldn't do it too long.

About a year and a half ago I started really cranking up my cardio by doing it 2 times a day for a while, and for the first few weeks it had a huge impact on my fat loss. But I got kinda "obsessed" with things and just kept adding more cardio like this and eating really low fat, etc. and ended up hitting a wall where I didn't lose any fat for over a month and a half. I was also severely overtrained though, working out way too often, eating way too little fat, etc.

I ended up taking 2 weeks off then going back to the gym with a vengence, started eating a little more fat and lowered my volume and things got much better.

So, for me, the extra extra cardio worked but only for a few weeks. But it could also be the other issues (overtraining, crappy diet, etc.) that held me back, so who knows?

May want to try it for yourself for a week or two and then see how things work. Just keep a journal so you can properly assess things.

Well what do your other days (Mon-Sat) look like? Obviously if Sunday is your only "cardio day" and you do 2 sessions that day then you probably would not have any problems. :)

Show us what your other days look like in terms of cardio work!

Yeah dude be careful about dropping that fat TOO much. I was really (REALLY!) stupid about diet back then and just basically ate nothing but tuna, rice, and Myoplex every day for a few months (no cheating at all). Yes, I was looking really good for a while but like I said I ended up hitting a wall. Muscles started getting small and I started feeling crappy. I think my testosterone levels were shot or something from so little fat (at least that's what a personal trainer told me).

It's a great idea, just make sure your dietary approach addresses the needs of this activity.
