Other than the "high" sugar content I'd like to know what the negative side of milk is too. Thanks! OK I am not so sure about this. Dairy is a good source of protein. I have lost 50 lbs with 1% milk and Cottage cheese as staple of my diet. Again Diary is not bad for you as long as you don't over do it. Skoorb Fri, August 6th, 2004, 02:10 PM OK I am not so sure about this. Dairy is a good source of protein. I have lost 50 lbs with 1% milk and Cottage cheese as staple of my diet. Again Diary is not bad for you as long as you don't over do it.It's been one of my staples for years as well. When I was living at home years ago and too cheap to buy my own food (read: had no money), I used buckets of milk as a primary protein source. Currently I have 1-3 cups of cottage cheese/day while dieting, and generally 500 ml of skim milk too. I loves me dairy! Bluestreak Fri, August 6th, 2004, 02:15 PM Dairy products are fine until you get below about 12% BF. They will not affect weight loss at higher BF% levels when used in moderation in a well balanced diet and exercise scheme. Per my wife's former trainer, a former bodybuilder and competitor himself, dairy products encourage subcutaneous fat retention. When you're looking to see your abs or more extreme - if you're looking for that "paper thin skin" look that bodybuilders achieve to display muscularity, cut out the dairy. -R MTmace Fri, August 6th, 2004, 02:31 PM I have just finished reading Ripped by Clarence Bass. MTmaceMusclemags are generally crap but a couple of years ago I was reading one and lee priest says that he started drinking whole milk too and has found it pretty good. Bluestreak Fri, August 6th, 2004, 03:13 PM Musclemags are generally crap but a couple of years ago I was reading one and lee priest says that he started drinking whole milk too and has found it pretty good. You're talking about people whose muscularity body-wide is considerably greater than yours or mine. You cannont compare their nutritional habits to your own. Lee Priest is 5'4" tall and weights 270-lbs. off-season. To contrast that - I am 5'6", approaching single digit body fat, and I weigh a whopping 142. And somebody correct me if'n I am wrong, but would you not be dead at 2.4% BF? Sheepish Fri, August 6th, 2004, 03:15 PM Milk has always been an important part of my diet... but I find that if I consume 4 or more pints a day for more than three or four days I will start to get a build up of catargh. Similarily, if I have a smaller amount for a longer period I start to suffer as well. I don't have any other side effects, and it's only really a concern if colds are flying around (in which case, you WILL catch one). |
