I guess I'm going for the 8% bodyfat level because John sure looks ripped at that percentage. Just curious, right now I weight 176 and have a 20% bodyfat percentage - so to get to 8% bodyfat does that mean at my existing muscle/lean mass level I'd have to lose:

20% - 8% = 12%

12% of 176 = 21.12 lbs.

154.88 lbs would be my weight with that bf %? Boy, I haven't see that on the scale since high school. I better start the muscle workouts. I can remember being a skinny kid hoping to be 190 and all muscle - turns out I was 190 and all fat - argh!

Not quite.

I believe this is how you'd calculate it :-

176 lbs x 0.20 (20% BF) = 35 lbs current BF
176 lbs - 35 lbs = 141 lbs lean mass

141 lbs + 8% = 152 lbs target (assuming muscle mass remains the same)

therefore:-
176 lbs - 152 lbs = 24 lbs of fat to lose.

I don't really like that real ripped look at 8% on the end of John's fatloss cycle. I like the toned/bulk look like he looks later. So for me, I think I'm going to try and maintain %9 after I get there.

I started at 183lbs. ~28%BF - I'm down to 151lbs and 11.4%BF now.

%9...... here I come [:D]

I would ideally like to get to 8% bf to, but my current aim is 10 % bf. Then i'll bulk.
