View Full Version : What's the deal with this guy? MGB Fri, July 30th, 2004, 01:20 AM http://www.skiplacour.com/welcome.htm Anyone bought his books, used his program? supirman Fri, July 30th, 2004, 07:12 AM Well of course his physique is the real deal, but as for his whole 'drug-free' spout, I doubt it. Him and Jeff Willet both claim to be drug free, but compete at a big level.... I would have to call bullshit on the drug free claim :) 1FastGTX Sun, August 8th, 2004, 07:37 PM Skip has a fantastic body as does Jeff Willet. Both are MAXOT trainees. I've emailed Skip before asking him questions about my MAXOT routine and he was very very nice and helpful, emailed me back personally which surprised me. I bought and watched one of Skip's "Instant Videos" and it was pretty helpful seeing him train. It was extremely boring, but what do you expect -- it was just a weeks worth of his workouts in one hour long video. It was interesting watching him train "MAXOT style" and seeing his form, phyching up for heavy sets, etc. As to whether or not he and Jeff are drug free - who knows. Apparently AST is pushing them with MAXOT workouts and AST supplements and giving them jobs partially to prove and show what one can do while being drug free. They make A LOT of noise and go to a lot of trouble to show that these guys are drug free, so who am I to argue? I guess you never know, but I know a couple of guys who are drug free and look almost as good. When one has that kind of incredible genetics, I believe it's possible. guitarman Sun, August 8th, 2004, 09:32 PM Why is it that great results automatically equals drugs? If I train hard is that what I should expect? Unless its known for a fact maybe the benefit of the doubt is better. Everything in this world seamingly unatainable can't be attributed to drugs. Revlis Mon, August 9th, 2004, 07:10 AM Skip admits to using drugs in the past but now says he is drug-free. I honestly don't care if they are or not. I personally would never touch them. Unless its known for a fact maybe the benefit of the doubt is better. Everything in this world seamingly unatainable can't be attributed to drugsNo, you couldn't, since most just can't do it. You could have taken me at 15 and started me on a regimen of all the drugs under the sun and I'd never have built a body like ronnie coleman. Genetics really are responsible for so much. They are the talent, and drugs are merely excercising that :) I wouldn't touch them either, but I think that it's possible Skip could have that build without them. It's neat to notice that a drug-free BBer nowadays can have a build similar to that in the hey day of arnold, where the guys did use drugs. Supplements and excercise science are worth a good bit. Kind of like a freak show, I'm interested in seeing how the pros continually get bigger and bigger, destroying their bodies more and more, as new drugs come out. In 20 years will they be competing regularly in a ripped state at over 300 lbs? Maybe :) I saw a site recentyl (can't find it), that had some of the old bodybuilders next to current-day champs and geeze they've grown a lot. |
