You're probably concerned with gynecomastia (aka "bitch tits"). This is a fatty deposity around the nipples (the areola) that makes the chest look more like a female's. In some people, gyno is genetic. Some people develop gyno as a result of hormonal supplementation (particularly andro). One way to get rid of it is to have it surgically removed. Some reports say that zinc can decrease gyno, but I haven't looked too in-depth into their validity.

As far as avoiding it, it's unlikely this will develop unless you are pre-disposed to it (which it doesn't seem as if you are, as you are asking how to avoid it, not how to get rid of it) or start taking andro or an illegal steroid. Just adding muscle mass to your pecs will not cause gyno, so no worries when it comes to lifting heavy. Make that chest grow!

Bitch Tits - I love that. Also called "MOOBs - man boobs."

Probably just fat. If you build muscle and reduce your bodyfat any moobs you have will go away eventually. There is a hormonal condition that affects some men in puberty that causes serious moobs to form. This ain't the same as moobs from fat. it usually requires cosmetic surgery to correct.

Lifting and weight loss will give you a manly man chest. If you're not overweight, not taking gear or don't have the above affliction I wouldn't worry about developing moobs from lifting. You need to work all chest muscles to get balanced development. :tu:
