View Full Version : Question about Protein Powder
brownguy Wed, February 4th, 2004, 04:53 PM Let me set up the question before I get to it.
Bought NitroTech (before I was told it was overpriced) and the serving size is per 28.5 g (1 scoop), 20 g protein.
Bought SportPharma Just-Whey and the labels says:
Serving Size: 2 level scoops (30 g)
It gives you 23 g of protein per serving.
The scoops are the same size for both products.
Same size scoop, two different weights. So what's going on? I can't gag down 2 scoops of this crap everday!
Zamboni you've worked at GNC, right? Any idea?
Razor Wed, February 4th, 2004, 05:01 PM Different products have different serving sizes.
zamboni Wed, February 4th, 2004, 08:47 PM On your own post, you said one scoop of nitrotech was 28 gs, and the other was 30. The other whey's scoop is literally just half the size of the nitrotech sccop.

That's the weird thing, though. Both scoops are the same size!
I see a 1-800 number. I'll give them a call.
workoutgrrl Thu, February 5th, 2004, 10:38 AM actually, what's going on is the second product has a lot of fillers. That's how you can take a supplement pill that has only a few milligrams of calcium (or whatever), and the pill still be HUGE -- much larger that 5 grams in weight. The fillers probably have no nutritional value, so they don't show up on the label (but will show up on the ingredients), but it can make it a whole lot harder to choke down. Sorry...

Thanks for the clarification......I'll never buy SportPharma again.
Malikai Thu, February 5th, 2004, 04:35 PM Speaking of powdered protein, if anyone in australia is looking for so good cheap protein power check out www.myopure.com.au. The Microfiltered WPI is $38/kg it doesn't have any additives so it pretty much tastes like cardboard but I find I'm used to it now so I don't normally add anything to it anymore. Oh and you'll need an old container to put it in as it comes in bags, guess that's one way they keep the costs down. They even have bulk discounts for 20kg of it and over if you find you really like it.
Although I'm thinkin about getting the optimum nutrition chocolate one cause someone let me try theirs and it was yum and it's only a little more expensive then the one above $49/0.9kg.
