Are they suppossed to slant in towards each other or out away from each other?

The bars are supposed to slant in. When I am not using mine to hold weights on both sides, they are faced in for dips.

That's what I thought too. Maybe they put the wrong left/right stickers on mine though :p If the peg thing is on top, the only way to put the dip bar labelled "right" on the right side is to have it slanting out (the one labelled left slants out too). If I take the one labelled "right" and stick in in the inside of the pole with the peg on the top of the dip bar it slants in. This seems correct to me but goes against the labels. Can anyone please post a pic?
Thanks,
Steve

Depends on which muscle group your trying to target. If you're wanting to hit the chest properly (http://www.bodybuildinglive.com/cgi-bin/webbbs_config.pl?read=1737) then you should have them so that they angle out, and your hands should be 32" apart. (http://www.bodybuildinglive.com/vincegironda/pages/gironda_dip.html)
If you're looking to work your triceps, and angle them in, and push your elbows behind you. Don't worry about how the rack was designed to be used, focus on using it correctly to achieve the desired results.

Or maybe Powertec has started marking them correctly?

if you look at some of the ad pictures, you'll see that they are supposed to angle out. Personally I use them out wheras my much shorter sister uses them pointing in. It doesn't matter, your body size and form using them does.

If you put the bars facing out on a powertec rack, the distance BEGINS at 48". I don't know who is doing dips with a 48" grip, but it is not me. :D
