how do you guy and gals determine you percentage body fat?

My people use calipers or mybodycomp.com

Neither is all that accurate, but really as long as you've got a consistent method you should be able to gauge your progress just fine.

The mirror always works too.

is there any local store i can find a fat caliper at kmart,walmart.GNC? i prefer not to order stuff online anyone have a good sujestion? thanx.

I've seen them sold locally and I believe that my local Ultimate Nutrition sells them. Some people are also using the Tamita scales.

A good way is to look at pictures like those that jeremy likness posted for his transformation at http://www.naturalphysiques.com

Pressure or water testing is, AFAIK, the best true way to determine bodyfat, besides putting a person in a grinder and really breaking them down properly :eek:

There are other ways to estimate BF%. One works on waist measurement:

But, it is just a number to share with others, the mirror and a camera tell the story well. What difference does it make if a measure says you are 9% and you look like someone from a concentration camp? While we see pictures that say 8% and I think it looks like 23% to me. Work towards the look, the fat cells will fall into place.

yeah ive been hitting the wieghts hard and started dropping wieght fast so i freeked and started eating more. i started thinking and decided i needed some way to monitor. i found the caliper at gnc. i decided im at about 20% body fat at 205lbs setting my wieght loss goal for around 13 lbs providing i dont gain any muscle wieght. thanx guy i realy apreciate the help going to read all them links now :claplow:


update all the links say im between 20 and 22% except the last wich said 8% i have 16 lbs fat yeah right lmao thanx for the links good stuff
