Okay so I'm a water junkie. when I'm not eating but I feel like drinking something it's water water water, but when I have a meal I come off the water just for the meal and gave Gatorade. Is this bad? I just do it because ive never liked drinking water with a meal. I still get in a gallon of water a day at the minumum...I just dont drink it with my meals.

Is this bad??

Why Gatorade? There are alot better choices. Gatorade is loaded with simple carbs that you don't need esp while you are doing nothing more than sitting down to dinner. Try an iced tea or Diet V8 Splash or something that isn't 240 empty calories.

Another bad thing about Gatorade-it's has added sodium. Same with V-8. Yes, drinking nothing but water does get a little old. I sometimes will have iced tea or skim milk.

try a Fruit 2 0 made by very fine. People are gonna think im a Fruit 20 rep or something bc I recommend it so much. Its a diet flavored water, but its different than the usual flavored water with just a hint of lemon or something. they are sweet tasting and to top it off, they are sweetened with splenda. Doesnt get much better...def try em.

It's not bad unless you're worried about calories, since the calories in it are fairly useless unless you're excercising.

What is really good, imo, and also inexpensive to make is water with half a lemon, lime or orange squeezed into it with a couple ice cubes. It gives it a twist, but does not have the super sweet flavor that a lot of fruit drinks (diet or non-diet) contain. This is a good way I have found to help train your taste-buds to not crave so much sweetness...thus reducing your cravings for sodas or fruit juices which are packed with sugar. You have to be careful with diet stuff as well...alot of the sugar substitutes are just as bad for you in other areas of health as real sugar is. Also, I thought I read an article a while back that said that human bodies are beginning to adapt and metabolize a lot of the artificial sweeteners that are on the market...food for thought. When in doubt I like to just go the healthiest route which is usually the most natural options you can choose.

It does give it a tastey edge while keeping calories at or near zero ;)

Crystal Light anyone? I'm addicted to this stuff at meals, and I love almost every flavor they have.

Iced tea has caffeine which makes it a diurectic. Crystal Light is yummy, but it depends if the person has cut out artificial sweetners. If you need a twist, the lemon and water idea is good. After all, your body can't digest the lemon, but you get the flavor. Any of the drinks mentioned are alright in moderation and varies depending on exercise, diet and time of consumption. I say that including water. Yes you can drink too much water (water intoxication or hyponatremia), flushing a lot of nutrients from your body so don't go way overboard. Although it takes a lot of water, without moderation, it could happen. In fact, if you find yourself going to restroom every 15 minutes and you don't have a bladder condition, reevaluate your fluid intake. Also, remember about 30% of your fluid intake can come from foods depending on your diet.
