View Full Version : Critics my pics
nicokim Mon, July 5th, 2004, 03:26 PM Okay, I have decided to send some pics of my transformation :D Maybee I need some motivation, some times I seem to be discouraged with my transformation and it seems to be a long road to get where I want to be. I don't want to give up but.... what a long road. If I can only get rid of the dummy fats overs my abs.
Any comments of what I should improve is more then welcome. Be nice :D NO seriously, be honest

Actually... you look awesome :) Your abs are nice.... the only thing i'd add (if i had ur body)... would be upping the cut in the quads/legs... that would look awesome.. :P

Looking good, like most of us you might work the lats to increase the V. When you work legs, never forget the hamstrings. Go get it.
nicokim Mon, July 5th, 2004, 04:51 PM I focus a lot on my shoulder's and legs workouts. But probably not enough for my lats. So if i can't get rid at least of my dummy fats over my stomach, a good V-Shape will probably getting the illusion of having a smaller waist.
I try to work on quads separation, like holding static contration during each set of leg extension and while doing squat I supperset my squat with sissy squat which is burning so much. Leg curls are usually supperset with stif dead leg lift.
Any tips for quads separation.

Sissy squats, try them unweighted for up to 20 reps. I suggest you superset opposing muscles. Do squats with deadlifts and sissy squats with leg curls. Try it that way to confuse them and you might increase weights used.
Seems like you know what to do, just give it time.

Hi rtestes,
While I'm doing my sissy squats it is always unweighted and beleive me having it supperset with squat, IT'S CRAZY I can hardly do it to the count of 12, it's hurting so much and my legs are trembling so much while doing them. IT'S MORE THAN CRAZY - IT'S HELL
But usually for my legs I am always (most of the time) working with supperset, but I was not doing it with opposite body part. I'll try it to challenge them.
I don't know if it's okay, but I always start my trainings legs wit leg extension (one at the time) and do some pre-exhaustion and holding static to get the pump right away and then have a good workout. Of course by doing that I can not lift that much weight than if I wasn't doing some pre-exhaustion but I think or though that It will work better my muscle legs.
I have start to do some Lunge on the treadmil with 10 pounds on each end incline at 15 speed at .08. I might be dummy :p
guava Wed, July 7th, 2004, 04:59 PM You look great. Your arms are gorgeous. Have you been working them out with weights all this time since you were 25?
The picture of you from 1987 is pretty much my idea of the perfect body for a woman. :D
Don't worry, you'll be where you want to be very soon.
nicokim Wed, July 7th, 2004, 05:37 PM Hi Guava,
I completly stop training after my last competition in 1987 and never train until this year January 2004. After my last competition I was so drained that I did not return to the gym and then I met my husband, then have kids and all responsability that came with everythings, kids, house and so and so.
So I am just starting back 17 years later  Wow times go so fast.
it's unbelievable.
My picture in 1987 is now what I'm trying to reach back, and from now, despite I haven't train during all those years, I'm very suprised of how my body reacts, I don't know if I have good genetics, but for only 6 months training, I'm happy with the results so far. Sometimes I am just wondering if muscle has memories.
On that picture I was 5'6" - 123 pounds
Now I am still 5'6" and 130.5 pounds, So I'm only 7.5 pounds away from that picture and my muscle size, well are not too bad despite the layer of fat that I do carry. My weak point is definitvly my abs, cause I hate training abs and I tend to neglecte training them. So I will have to focus more on them and work them probably with weight resistance.
My biceps, I think, are definitvely my stronger part. And I'm working hard on my legs, got to have some quads separation for sure, that's my mean target, quads separation.
Thank's for your comments and, I saw your picture too and will like to congrat you as well for the good work you have been doing. You are AWESOME, real way to go.
Take care and have a good training day's :bb:
blueoblivion Wed, July 7th, 2004, 09:25 PM hi!

Boy were you ever right about the mirror image thing. First let me say you look great! When I looked the pics of you in March, your body reminded me of mine...those "dummy abs" haha. Same problem here. And today I had a horrible day. I get so down on myself. I have lost another pound, and now Im 125.5 but I still have a lot of fat over them!!!!! And it just baffles me where I am losing the fat from because I dont find any anywhere else?? It is really frustrating. Im only 5'5 and 125 pounds...I mean how much more can I lose without losing all the fat off my GUT! ahhhh
I then scrolled down and seen your recent pic and I found hope! haha I guess I just need encouragement I dont know. But I eat so clean, maybe too clean I dunno haha. But I guess the LAST place I will lose "dummy fat'" is my abs...but it sucks!!! I am not giving up, I came this far, so I dont think about stopping, I think I am just afraid that my body will not give up the fat from there, but I mean, it will right? If I continue to eat clean and exercise. Im cheating Tomorrow for the first time in 10 days, that should do me and my metabolism good and I will work hard after that. I am gonna start calorie cycling on Monday or Tuesday just in case my body is becoming efficient at what I have been feeding it. I am also gonna eat more salmon insteas of chicken everyday, which was suggested to me, even though I know i should be, but its hard with my work, working 5-9 and I work out before work and have oatmeal after so I would have to cook it and bring it, just extra trouble but ill try next week.
So....it took you like 2-3 months (March-July) for your body to start using that last bit of abs fat? Ugh...torture. I can be patient as long as I know it will come eventually. I am really aiming for the end of august!
Anyways..congrats you look awesome, keep up the harddddd work!
nicokim Thu, July 8th, 2004, 06:17 PM Hi Diamond and Blueoblivion,
I have come to the fact and accepted that time and patience will get shred of the last layer of fat and it seems that the last place to go, in my case, it's my abs. You wouln't beleive how I have lost alot from my breast :( and butt :claplow: and I guess girls, that your gonna loose some too. Now I KNOW that it is all about DIET, to see those abs, but on weekend I AM CHEATING, and I have always cheat, not like crazy but I noticed that all those CHEAT, during weekend, boost my metabolism and when I'm back into the gym on the monday and the days following, I stay more than clean, and the fat still go away. So I'm not feeling guilty anymore like I used to be when starting the transformation which it is not completed.
Now I give my self 10 to 12 weeks to loose that 7.5 pounds that should bring's my abs more define, great if it goes faster, but I doubt, it seems that closer you come to your goal, harder it is. But I'm gonna mentally focus to saw them.
I think that it's a great thing that you started eating more salmon, I eat alot of salmon, trut per weeks, probably close to 9 times a weeks, there is alot of calcium in salmon and calcium help to lean out.
Keep on going girls, we are strong and we are going to win the WAR. :tu:
I might join you into the online journals training beginning of august, cause I'll be out on vacation in a week for the rest of July.
Take Care and Keep on Rocking

I will like to help, but I'm so clueless with computer. I can't put picture on my avatar, it's telling me can not find url. :(

Mmmm.... suppersets... that sounds delicious. Also, I like how you refer to your excercise as "doing squat" :tu: . Sometimes I feel like I'm doing squat when I do mine, too.
nicokim Fri, July 9th, 2004, 06:13 PM Ditto on Suppersets :tu: That's awesome, during a cut, I always work with suppersets and like to use those formula's for a cut
1) isolation - supperset - isolation
2) isolation - supperset - mass
And Having a real good pre-exhaustion when starting training each body part is awesome as the pump is reach very fast :tu: THEN go with hardcore supperset, holding static after each set, holding the peak, dropping the set, then burn  burn  burn  OUTCH....

nicokim- thanks for the kind words! i'm trying to lose that last little bit too. luckily, i had no boobs to begin with, but i'm definitely losing fat from funny places like my neck, back, etc. instead of where i really want it to leave from (stomach, love handles). you've made so much progress, and i think that your plans to lose the last 7 lbs SLOWLY is a good way of going about things.
diamondstar... i'm 5'5" at 120 and the tummy has started to go away... don't worry, it'll happen! my highest weight topped yours- it was 155 and i've noticed that these last few lbs are the hardest. you'll get there, you already look great!
