Hi guys...this is my first time posting pics....I started cutting 4 weeks ago, this picture is before I started cutting so I am 5.5 pounds lighter now (I dont have any recent pics yet).

My situation is this...I have little fat besides my midsection. I have lost 5.5 pounds and my stomach remains the same. I guess everyone will say wait it out and it will come from there eventually, which is what I am trying to convince myself, but it is really hard. I am not flexing at all in these pics, as they were taken on vacation and not intended for this!

I was wondering if someone could estimate my body fat and estimate how long it will take me to see my abs! I started at 132 now I am 126.5 pounds @ 5'5.

Heres the diet and training

Monday: chest, shoulders, triceps; 13 mins HIIT
Tuesday: Cardio 45 mins moderate intensity, ABS
Wednesday: Quads, Hams and calves; 13 mins HIIT
Thursday: Cardio, 45 mins HIIT, ABS, usually walk/run in the evening outside
Friday: Back, biceps, forearms; 13 mins HIIT
Saturday: Cardio 45 mins moderate, run outside in evening
Sunday: OFF!

Diet:
meal 1 - 2pks oatmeal, 1 scoop whey
meal 2 - 1 pk oatmeal, 1 sc whey
(these carbs are close together b/c i work either before breakfast or after the first meal
Meal 4 - protein shake
meal 3 - 2 oz almonds
meal 4 - 2 chicken breasts, 2 cups broccali
meal 5 - protein shake with 2 tsp flax oil
My calories are around 1500

There it is...comments, suggestions and estimates to my questions are welcome and very much appreciated!

Geez I guess you guys need the pic haha almost forgot :o

Thanks everyone for the compliments...although im not fishing for compliments i dont feel happy with my body at all...hence the reason for cutting like a madwomen haha

Does anyone have any ideas on the BF% and the time frame to get down to abs??

You should feel happy with your body right now. It is beautiful. It's great to reach a point where you feel even more beautiful though.

For me, at 5'5", I had to get down to about 120 pounds before I saw abs.

Sorry, I don't know how to estimate body fat percentage. I've never had mine measured, but I think probably when you get down to 18% body fat you might see your abs.

Your routine looks impressive and your diet looks pretty much ideal for your weight. Most people tend to cut back on calories drastically at first, big mistake. You seem to have it together from the word go. Are you sure your a "noobie" ??? ;)

You can already see the shape of your abdominal wall, so your not too far off, although youd be surprised how much weight there is to be lost before getting that 6 pack look. Id say timescales, doing what your doing is pretty hard to say without a more recent pic to compare with, in order to see how well ur body has responded. Maybe in another month or 2, you will be seeing the outline of the abs themselves, then maybe 3-4 months, u will be there. But thats only guess work.

Id look at working the shoulders a bit more. Your chest is quite big, which can be balanced out nicely with broader and more rounded shoulders. I think too many people group chest and delts together, they should be worked separatly IMO. I would do chest and tri's and then shoulders with traps on a separte day, and then back and bi's. But thats just me. And whatever works for you.

Why not keep a journal so we can keep up on your progress ?

I really think u have the shape of a fitness model, your legs are a perfect shape and your chest, neck and traps are really feminine and curvey. Rounded shoulders (not that they aren't nice, just my advice) and a few % knocked off the BF and you'll be there, a real knock out.

:)

Hi Diamond,

Very nice pics and congrat's on your shape and success. Yea, I know what you means about our dummy abs and it is not always easy to them to show, but you diet and training seems great. I guess that you'll see them very soon. Times and patience, and working on that too.

Thanks Nicokim and everyone else. Yeah It really is annoying and I work really hard (which im sure everyone else on this board does as well) but I feel that I wont be 100% happy with my body until I have reached a certain point (Abs). I was always small, with an athletic build but my 3rd year university I went up to 145 pounds! I started in March and I am done to 126.5 now, but you know what? I am not happy. I mean yes I give myself some credit for losing it, and I worked my a** off, but I am just not happy. On a scale from 1-10 on how happy I am, I would say 6 or 7 at the highest! So, as you can tell I am quite determined, and that is why my diet is so strict, simply because I will feel better after knowing I did it with such a strict diet!
I am hoping by the end of august I will see them, and if it happens a little sooner well that will be an added bonus! I am looking forward to posting my after pictures and middle progress (which is right now, because this picture is before I started cutting). Im gonna take the middle ones tomorrow.
Well....if anyone else has any estimates on the time frame I would certainly like to hear, also any things I should fix when I am done cutting, ie; shoulders (lacking big time even though I love working them). Go nuts! haha

OMG You seem to be my OWN MIROR Diamond. All your writting above, remind me: ME. Not happy until you saw them, I KNOW, I can relate to your feelings that eventhough you have been working hard, eating more then well and STILL DO IT, you are not happy. Perfection  For you height and weight you are on your target weights, same for me. But wanting more. I was thinking going like a pre-contest diet and cardio training, but I'm just wondering if I should not be more patient and maybe I should not drain that much my body.

Well keep on going Diamond, you are doing really good and hope that one day you'll see them just like you want, you deserve them, from all your good workouts. :bb:

Thanks nicokim. Well I am glad you can relate to me...its often hard to get people to realize how Im feeling. I try to keep my diet/exercise a secret to most people besides my close friends and family, because people laugh when I tell them I watch what I eat. All I hear is "shut up, you dont need to diet", or "whatever, your already small enough" or "if you only knew what I would give to be your size" I hear it all...but its not that, I wanna feel better and Im not dieting to see that magic number on the scale, I dont care what it says, I just want to be more confident in myself and reach a point where I can be proud of how far ive come and the sacrfices and strength it took to get there!

Im glad people have responded to my pictures and the compliments are great! I cannot wait to show everyone my after pictures....I will be totally proud of what I did to get there and you guys are all so motivating and of course help me keep up with trying to acheive my goals. I feel that when I do reach my goals, the first place I'll come is here, because I feel everyone is here to encourage/motivate/congratulate one another no matter what stage their at!

I must go write in my journal now...take care everyone and get to the gym haha

It might be in your journal already(i'll be checking shortly), but you ought to post a sample diet and see if there is some tweaking possible. What do you eat? Do you track what you eat? What is your macro split?

Be careful that you don't overtrain in hopes of getting those abs, because that can really set you back! What is your routine like?

4% of your bodyweight in a month sounds like you're well on your way. Keep it up - and the fat will eventually start to go from your stomach, if you get your BF% low enough :)

I would suggest 3 things in your diet.

I don't know if you eat oatmeal everyday or if that is a sample of just one day but I would suggest eating eggs every other day and see if you can use the slower cooking oatmeal as the packets of instant are not as good.

Twice a week eat steak and twice a week eat fish for dinner.

Third, that Sunday that you take off, eat one big cheat meal using pasta and bread, pizza and beer, BBQ ribs and corn on the cob, or something else you are not eating during the week that has high carbs and is bad for you if you eat too much of it. It will help you keep your metabolism going fast and you will lose more weight doing that than you will not doing it.

Diamond, I'll take a guess at your body fat, but you can go to mybodycomp.com and get a pretty accurate reading there. My bf is 20%, so I would say you are between 23%-20% bf. What is your goal?

You look great and have a lot to be proud of. I think it will come with continued hard work. I am not sure of your meal numbering, it seems to be off, but the meal that is just 2 oz of almonds, can you have one of those chicken breasts instead? Two chicken breasts at the next meal is a lot at one sitting. I would rather see you space them out over two meals than eat them both at one sitting. I typically have one breast (8-10 oz.), two servings of broccoli, and a yam for my meal after my post workout shake. Protein is better spaced out over the day. Every three hours would be ideal.

You did not mention what you are drinking (other than protein shakes), or how much sodium is in your diet. Try drinking a gallon of water per day and unsweetned green tea. Skip the coffee, diet soda, fruit juices, everything else. Cut way back on any sodium and take a potassium supplement instead. Too much sodium makes me look bloated and my abs smoothed over.

I can only mention some things that work for me, I don't know if they will for work for you. If I want my abs to show, I have to get below 9% and lots of water (1.5 gallons per day) does it. It would be somewhat less for you. The green tea is a natural diuretic and helps flush you out also. Lecithin is a natutal fat emulsifier, I take some with each meal. Also, ALA - it won't cut fat, but it is an important antioxident that will also help regulate blood sugar and help reduce excess sugar levels if you are getting too much. Vit B-6 is a natutal diuretic also.

Good luck.

Thanks for the tips, and the cheat meal shouldnt be too hard *lol* I am actually going out for pizza on Friday so I cant wait. And I really think my body is in need of it because I havent lost any weight for a week now!
I will check out the other oatmeal you suggested, since it is better and I just cant stomach eggs :d_frown: I tried to mix things up a bit, but I hate them!!

And I love salmon so I am going to have some next week. Steak? Isnt that fatty. I guess not if you get a lean cut? How many calories is that? for like a regular sized one?

Thanks for the help. Very much appreciated!

I have been drinking only water and trying to get more and more everyday! I am planning on getting some green tea soon. Sodium is low. I will consider spreading the chicken out...Its just hard with work and things, with my job I dont get a coffee break, so its hard to eat here.

Thanks for all your suggestions, they are greatly appreciated! :D

Hi Woeisemma, my short term goal now is to get down to 18-19% BF. Once I acheive this I want to build up my muscles, particularly my arms/shoulders/abs and then I will cut again, but these are more longer term, after I am done with this cutting phase. I am hoping to be done this cut by the end of the summer (maybe not 18-19% but at least visible abs..I will keep going until 18-19% then I will bulk! :tu:
