I can't have Whey at all. It cause me bloating while milk is fine for me. What could be a good alternative? especially immediately after the workout.

A good protein source, like Tuna would do fine. I use Tuna or Chicken when I'm out of Whey and have no money for it (skint).

My second choice would be egg protein. Then milk or soy.

Have you tried a different kind or brand of protein powder?
If you go for egg or milk you will need a lot more than if you eat salmon/tuna etc.
Have you tried meal replacement shakes? Most of them dont contain just whey. And maybe you react different to them.

old thread revisited...

I was wondering if anyone else has this problem with Whey. I have stopped having my daily PWO shake with All The Way Protein to see if it has this bloating effect on me...and I think that whey protein does, for the last two days I have been significantly trimmer and my pants have been a bit looser...

Anyone else have this experience...I just bought two 5 gallons of chocolat ATW protein...good thing my wife likes it I guess, because if it is the culprit of the bloating I have experienced I think I will be limiting myself to only 1 or 2 shakes per week.

Try using Soy Protein isntead, comes in powder form and comes in different flavors as well, I personally have never had a problem with whey protein and bloading.

I haven't experienced this with whey. But I did cut out all dairy for the last 3 1/2 weeks of my cut to see how it would effect me. (I handle it fairly well-whey + cottage cheese go down fine, while milk and some other types of cheese seem to cause slight congestion and bloating). During this time, I used egg protein in my PWO shake and I was very happy with it. There is talk to it being inferior to whey, but I feel like I kept all of my muscle. Of course, I was eating quality protein sources from whole foods the rest of the day. I tried soy PWO as well, but I found it to be grittier and not as good to mix in a shake. Give the egg protein a try. You might want to give the whey a rest for a few weeks and replace it with the egg (or something of your choice) and see it's the culprit.

Lauren,

This is Laura - the service rep for All The Whey. Drop me an email at Wheystation@aol.com. I will send you a sample pak of all 5 flavors - see how you do with our brand (ON US, of course). I think that you might find that the purest of whey might make a difference. :tu:
