View Full Version : I'm going on Body for Life
French Spirit Sun, July 4th, 2004, 12:39 AM I'm going to get the book on tuesday when the library opens. No sense in buying a book when you can get it for free, eh?
I'm not sure what I have to lose. 5-10 pounds, I think. I hope I can lose this in 8 weeks, but I guess 12 would be ok...
I just need a little structure in my diet, that's all. And I know it's worked well for others, so I might as well give it a shot.
Here's a question: Can I do 40-60 minutes of cardio instead of the HIIT? I don't really like HIIT, and I imagine it probably burns about the same, no?
paradox. Sun, July 4th, 2004, 01:33 AM You don't have to do HIIT ...as a matter of fact, whenever I started a program that involved HIIT, I've suffered a great deal in the muscle department. Do 35-45 minute cardio sessions, medium effort in the morning and you'll be set. Good luck!

Sure you can. But you wont have to do 40-60mins. Reckon you will lose the pounds with a little less.

Destiny Sun, July 4th, 2004, 11:21 AM When I first started my program I was doing HIIT and I liked that it saved time. Then I started getting tired of it and needed a change. I switched to 45 minutes of cardio and worked my way up to 60 minutes. I have lost weight with both so I personally don't believe that HIIT really has any edge over regular cardio.

It's what you like to do, enjoy your time in the gym! (i do.. ;))

I recently made some adjustments to my stationary biking that have made the minutes fly by. First, I adjusted the seat so it stops creaking. That was annoying. Second, I lowered the intensity, which was one of the reasons I couldn't do much more than 20 minutes without being winded. Last, I started playing Madden while I biked. It's awesome.

hehe.
In some gyms here you have stationary bikes with headphones. There are three big screen in the gym. You can just choose which you want to watch, and you'll get the sound in ya headset. Awesome :)
