Hello everyone on the JSF.

I like a few people, don't even recall how I stumbled onto this site, but i've been reading this site even before the forums were made. I did a very 1/2 assed job of weight loss. I'd start, do well for 1 month, then fall back into the same old gross habits.

But, like the name of the thread. I'm sick of it all. I've always been the chubby/fat kid for a while now. Which wasn't very fun socially in school and out in public. I've had my fair share of being ridiculed or taking the small "joking" jabs.

Well, things are different now, i'm very much taking control of my life and making the changes I need to make. First thing, I stopped thinking in the "if-then" way. Where i belived If i lost the weight , then I'd be happy or have better self confidence.

With just using my wonderful charm alone, i've been dating alot more than in High School and i'm currently with a wonderful chick right now.

But somethings are still wrong when girls say "wow, i think your boobs are as big as mine" - or bigger in some cases.

But I can feel alot of the health problems related to being overweight, like depression, aches, lack of energy/motivation, just generally out of shape.

SO, i'm finally sick of it all and making the real decision to drastically change my life around. After so many months of lurking, and seeing all these amazing people accomplish so much. Its time I joined in on the fun for good this time. :bb:

I don't have any pressing questions right now, because there is so much questions that have already been asked that I wanted to know.

I do have one question :

Can some one direct me to a website or know any resistance workouts I can do at home with out dumbells, etc etc. ? Like variations on pushups and leg workouts. Being super poor, i can't afford a gym pass yet.

Thanks alot you guys on this site are real inspirations yourself.

Stats:

178cm - 5' 10
approx : 204 lbs
Waist : approx : 40.5 "
BF% : ranges on what i use, about 25% or so.

this device says : 33 % http://www.eloton.com/hmeter.asp :d_eek:

I'm going to post some pics as soon as i learn how to shrink them into the acceptable size.

Take up skipping and running and do push ups pull ups squats crunches etc. Just make it a part of your daily routine. Then after a couple of months of doing it you will be unable to do without.

hey congrats at making the commitment to changing your body! I am the same height and age as you.
You are pretty much in exact same position as i was a few months ago.
I was about 200 lb three months ago and now 181 (been on a plateau for bit, but my strength is increasing so its ok). All I can say is for a poor person (like me) is
- log your food
- log your exercise
- try to get SOME cardio in every day, but dont go super intense
- try to get someone to lend you their unused weights (ask around, you'll be amazed at the number of ppl with dust covered bench sets)
- make sure you improve SOMETHING every week. So if you managed a certain distance in 20 minutes, try to get there in 18 by week's end. Or if longest you did cardio was 30 mins, try to do 35 the next week.
Progress, any kind of progress, keeps you motivated.

Goodluck! If you want it it's definitely within your reach. Being thinner and fitter is in everyone's reach (unless they are a parapalygic or have lepresy or something). If you want it enough this time, you will get it.

Whatever plan of attack you choose, do it for at least 4-6 weeks then re-evaluate.

thanks for the info and encouragement.

I'm going to be doing a usual split with cardio / resisitance.

Monday/Wed/Fri - Weights ( some cardio )

Tuesday/ Thursday/Sat - Cardio and Kickboxing

Sun - Flexibility

The hardest part is not working out , but keeping on track with my nutrition.

Without a gym membership and proper weights the only thing i can tell you may also be the most important in your case...Cardio is your best friend from this day forward...You will eat it, live it, sleep it and love it. Whatever form you choose to do, whether it be walking, skipping rope or jogging make sure you do it day in and day out. With proper nutrition and a sound Cardio workout daily there is no reason why you shouldent see results, :gl:

Hello ...

Here is one work-out you could try, it's basically a strength training/cardio mix exercise program. It uses your own body weight, so no need for dumbbells or anything like that.

If you can not finish this work-out modify it. He does tell you to stay very hydrated while doing this workout.

this last one shows you how to do the exercises correctly ...
