View Full Version : Hey Jeremy!
FireForEffect Fri, July 2nd, 2004, 11:32 AM I was looking at your body fat percentage guide(thanks for that by the way, very cool idea!) and was wondering how long it took you to drop from 14-16%bf to 10%bf? Did you change anything in your program during this time period that helped drop so much fat?

You're welcome! Can't wait to get the women's guide up. 14% to 10% really only took around 4 weeks ... I was losing about 1% per week, and no, it didn't take much special change. It was going from 10% to the ones below that, i.e. 6, 7, or 8, that was tough - it is about 4 weeks for me to get from 10% to 8% or 7% and changes to do that include counting calories, no splurge meals, and extra cardio. I don't do it haphazardly however .. in other words, I never just add cardio for the sake of it. I use DietPower and know my weight goal - for example, I know that 180 is going to be shredded for me, so I set that target, and then if my calories budgeted are, say, 1400, then I might add 300 calories of cardio to bring it up to 1700 which is a little more sane for me. :)

Thanks for the kind words, everyone. I should do a better job of cross-linking my resources, so it is easier to find the Body Fat Percentage Guide for Men (http://www.naturalphysiques.com/cms/index.php?itemid=144).

French Spirit Sat, July 3rd, 2004, 12:14 AM Jeremy: I wish you had a pic of you relaxed for the 14-16 range. I think I'm in that range but I don't have a way of accurately measuring my bf...
However, with your flexing in that pic, I can't tell what your stomach looks like.

Just take the 16-18 percent and trim a tad from the love handles. And keep in mind that just because you look like another picture, doesn't necessarily mean you are the same body fat. For example, if I were storing a lot of fat on my lower back, I might actually be a higher body fat percentage. Same with some people who might have less love handles and a more defined stomach than me, but are storing fat more distributed over all of their body (i.e. arms, legs, etc). It's a tricky thing - this is just to give a ballpark, +/- 4%, so people can see the way it changes/progresses, not necessarily to be an exact science.

FireForEffect Mon, July 5th, 2004, 05:51 AM Thanks for the response Jeremy. I am around 15-16%bf or so, maybe a bit higher after eating crappy the past few weeks. I am bummed because I recently moved and have been unable to find a job and thus cannot afford a gym membership or even to eat clean like I have been for years. STRESS!!!
I am freakin' out not being able to lift. All I have been doing is cardio at my apartments crappy gym. Better than nothing but not doing anything really as far as fat loss. I have been eating like crap because I can only afford cheap food. I went from steaks and protein powder to ramen noodles and hotdogs. I am feelin' it too!
Anyway, its good to hear it only took you about a month to lose it because I am getting depressed, I feel like a fat tub O' lard and it is sapping my self esteem. This is the most out of shape I have ever been and I don't like it one bit. My waist is 37" or so and that is sucking it in. A year ago I was 33" which was too big anyway but at least not too bad.
Again, thanks for the motivation, hopefully soon I will be able to put that motivation to use! I pray I find a job soon, my damn bills are all backed up. Ugh. You never realize how much of a stress relief working out is until you cannot work out for awhile.
Buchy Mon, July 5th, 2004, 12:20 PM Jeremy I am sooo glad you linked that :)
I've been fretting about my bodyfat this past couple of days, wondering where it was at, with different numbers from different sources. I was wondering how on earth I could have started at 266lbs with 26% bodyfat, be working out and eating healthy, lose 35lbs and still be 20% according to mybodycomp! Looking at those pictures I think I am definately in the 14-16% range, which ties in with the maximuscle website. I have a physique almost identical to yours but I'm a bit taller.
Really do appreciate seeing that and I've bookmarked your site :)
Whew!!
