I'm getting kinda sick of my muscles hurting the whole next day (and sometimes longer). I heard that L-glutamine is good for reducing muscle soreness, is this right and are the other things i can take?

Fourteener Fri, July 2nd, 2004, 12:16 AM Hehe, sleep is a good supplement to ones day for relieving pain. A hot tub is a good supplement to a house for relieving pain! Oxycodone is a good supplement to a medicine cabinet for relieving pain!! A fifth of Jim Beam and Coke is a good supplement to stuffed jalapenoes and garlic, cheese bread for relieving pain!!! I'm sorry. I know that none of these were what you were looking for, but they really do work on the PWO pain. :D I take L-glutamine. I have absolutely no clue if it does anything at all. I just think it makes me cool. four Shadow12 Fri, July 2nd, 2004, 03:14 AM Creatine has in the past reduced the pain in my muscles but like anything diferent people react diferently. Bawl Fri, July 2nd, 2004, 08:18 AM I have found that adequate PWO (Post WorkOut) nutrition will help ease DOMS (Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness.) Bluestreak Fri, July 2nd, 2004, 09:19 AM I love the soreness. I live for it. I can't reach that level very often anymore. I beat the daylights out of shoulders yesterday... they're sore today. It rocks. Glutamine is good, HMB is another I've heard about but never used. I am not much on supps... goddezz Fri, July 2nd, 2004, 06:40 PM Don't forget to stretch after your workout too. A lot of people stretch before the W/O but too many don't do it afterwards while the muscle is warm. It helps! aerome Sat, July 3rd, 2004, 07:33 AM I love the soreness. I live for it. I am not much on supps... I'm with you. I love the soreness too. It means the muscle really got a good w/o. Love the feeling of the pump too. Too bad it doesn't last long. I heard that taking NO2 helps keep the pump longer. What do you think? aerome Sat, July 3rd, 2004, 07:35 AM I'm getting kinda sick of my muscles hurting the whole next day (and sometimes longer). You should enjoy the soreness unless it is pain from an injury. trainiac Sun, July 4th, 2004, 01:25 PM My opinion is you should be a little sore the next day. If I'm not a bit sore in the muscles I worked the next day, then I think I went too easy on myself. I should have worked harder. But if you're REALLY sore, then I think you're doing too much. ---Clint http://www.notimetoexercise.com DavidBerger Mon, July 5th, 2004, 05:01 AM I take L-glutamine. BCAA stands for Branched Chain Amino Acids - ok, wonderful - we know what it stands for... Glutamine, when produced by the BODY helps repair muscles quite a bit. Unfortunately when taken as a straight supplement, it goes in the front door, and out the back. BCAA was developed actually for Olympians. It stimulates the body to create its own glutamine. In other words, it is the necessary precursor to natural glutamine production. Why does the body use its own glutamine and not the ingested form? You got me... there is much research on the internet about BCAA. You can find it usually right next to glutamine in most nutrition stores. 1FastGTX Tue, July 12th, 2005, 02:28 PM Instead of Glutamine, take BCAA. If I was going to spend my money on either BCAA or Glutamine...I'd buy the BCAAs every time. Use it PWO. jopreacher Tue, July 12th, 2005, 02:58 PM This months issue of M&F said something about drinking baking soda before working out because it would help cancel out the lactic acid. Sounds like utter bull to me. doordude42 Tue, July 12th, 2005, 03:14 PM I'm with you. I love the soreness too. It means the muscle really got a good w/o. Love the feeling of the pump too. Too bad it doesn't last long. I heard that taking NO2 helps keep the pump longer. What do you think? NO2 is garbage.I've used it and IMO, it sucks. 1FastGTX Tue, July 12th, 2005, 03:35 PM NO2 is a good product if you use it for the pump and for sex reasons. There is no doubt in my mind that it helps with these areas. Now we are into the debate about "does the pump mean more muscle growth" however. If you ask any Muscle Tech sponsored athlete, they'll give you a loud "YES!" Kino Tue, July 12th, 2005, 03:41 PM Go with straight arginine...10g PWO. You won't get the pumped feeling that you do from supplementing smaller doses through the day, but it'll aid in getting you PWO nutrients to the muscles that need them. 1FastGTX Tue, July 12th, 2005, 03:57 PM http://www.muscletech.com/wcsstore/MTStore/en_US/IMAGES/PRODUCTS/PUMP_TECH/PRD_HED_Pump_Tech_062104.jpg "Serious muscle pumps and increased vascularity are just a few things you can expect with new PUMP-TECH!" Kino Tue, July 12th, 2005, 04:09 PM http://www.muscletech.com/wcsstore/MTStore/en_US/IMAGES/PRODUCTS/PUMP_TECH/PRD_HED_Pump_Tech_062104.jpg "Serious muscle pumps and increased vascularity are just a few things you can expect with new PUMP-TECH!"    bradh Tue, July 12th, 2005, 05:09 PM I love getting sore muscles. :) |
