View Full Version : Huge Mistake!
AMR Thu, July 1st, 2004, 12:24 PM I've been doing pretty good with my workouts and diet so this morning I thought that I would treat myself to a Breakfast burrito combo at SONIC.
The combo is sausage, egg and cheese in a totilla with tater tots and a medium Dr. Pepper.
I've been tracking my meals on Fitday.com so I went to the SONIC website to get the nutritional info for this meal.
For the entire meal:
Calories = 1050!
Fat = 53g
Saturaded Fat = 21g
Carbs = 119g
Protein = 26g
After finding this out I thought, Oh my God! What have I done? This isn't a treat it's a death sentence. So that's the last meal I'll ever eat at SONIC. I'll have to create my own healthier version for my "treats".
RMe Thu, July 1st, 2004, 12:58 PM It does sound bad, but doing that once in a while will not even be noticeable. It only affects you severely when it becomes habit. Just remember almost all fast food stacks up to same result so beware.
Cursim Thu, July 1st, 2004, 01:00 PM Wow, that's insane! Guess you can trust anything you don't make yourself anymore, hehe...
kmfisher Thu, July 1st, 2004, 01:09 PM For the entire meal:
Calories = 1050!
Fat = 53g
Saturaded Fat = 21g
Carbs = 119g
Protein = 26g
Take out the Dr. Pepper and that takes away 300 calories and 74 g of carbs.
That makes your meal:
Calories = 750
Fat = 53 g
Sat. Fat = 21 g
Carbs = 45 g
Protein = 26 g
Not nearly as bad for a full meal, but the fat is through the roof. Learn to drink diet and you won't feel so bad about it!
Fabian Thu, July 1st, 2004, 01:22 PM You live and learn eh? :confused:
AMR Thu, July 1st, 2004, 01:35 PM I used to eat that same breakfast like 3 times a week!
Banditfist Thu, July 1st, 2004, 01:46 PM If I were you, I would eat that every day at breakfast!
Remember the challenge before you do that again.

Yeah I splurged last week and had pizza hut.. i dont' even want to know what Sh*t is in it. It was tasty and I didnt' "stall" at all... just drank lots of water and just kept training 7 days/week. I think a cheat day once in a while won't really kill ur progress, it may even put your body into "shock" again when you go back to clean eating/training.

ROFLMAO!
Unfortunately, I did worse last night. My boss is in town for our reviews this week and he took us out to lunch yesterday. It was a buffet, so I induldged. I figured, hell I did legs that morning, I'll be alright. Then that evening, I took the kids to McDonalds...big mistake.
I'm embrassed to admit it, but I had 2 Big Macs, 2 double cheeseburgers,large fry and large vanilla shake.
Comes out to
Calories:3830
Carb:177
Protein:419
Fat:135
Needless to say, I still feel like hell. I did remember to take my weekly challenge pictures BEFORE I ate :D

The longer you keep eating clean, the less you will want to indulge in that crapola. Isn't Sonic the place that is advertising the "Low-Carb" breakfast bowls that are basically big troughs of eggs, cheese, sausage, bacon, etc.?? Talk about a death sentence! LOL.
I think my biggest weakness for indulging is still desserts. Especially one of those hot brownies with ice cream and hot fudge. Talk about lethal, but talk about gooooood!!! :eek:
Skoorb Thu, July 1st, 2004, 02:35 PM Yep, that's not good for you. Might I recommend combo #6 from hardees next time :)

DAAAAMN! Now that is some serious chow. :d_eek: We gota keep each other away from that crap!
Today isn't a normal running day for but I'm going anyway!
RMe Thu, July 1st, 2004, 06:02 PM You guys are making me hungry. When you cheat, don't look it up b/c it will only make you freak out. All fast food is bad for you. That is why it is soooo good! If you need to cheat to stay the course then so be it. It would be better the cheat then fall off the wagon b/c of burn out.
technics Thu, July 1st, 2004, 09:20 PM Its kinda hard because I go to lunch with all my pals at work and I'm always suggesting places that have something decently healthy to offer...but today they wanted Burger King©. I got myself Junior Wopper™ , small fry and a sprite..I feel kinda guilty cause I havent eaten a burger in many weeks, but I know, as long as I keep workin it out, I should be good to go :tu:
markdc Thu, July 1st, 2004, 11:08 PM I recommend this (http://www.fatcalories.com/) link, which lets you calculate meals from various fast food places.
In my journal, I had the following meal from McDonald's on day 1:
Two double cheeseburgers
A McChicken sandwich
Medium fries
Hot fudge sundae
The meal contained:
Calories--2200
Fat calories--980
Fat--109g
Saturated fat--42g
Cholesterol--245mg
Sodium--3730mg
Suffice it to say, WAY more of each than I should be having in one meal. I don't think I'll be eating at McDonald's again anytime soon.
