View Full Version : What do you guys eat for breakfast?
mmace Tue, June 29th, 2004, 04:53 AM I keep hearing that I should avoid bread and dairy products (among other things), with that, I just wondered what you guys have for breakfast because I usually have wither 2 slices of toast or a small bowl of cereal with milk.
Is this small amout OK or should I avoid it totally?

Well it depends what you are trying to accomplish. Cutting or Bulking?.
Whatever your goal Breakfast is an important meal.
If you are cutting (losing fat). You need to get the metabolism going, so never miss breakfast. Milk and bread as part of a calorie resricted diet is not a problem. I use semi skimmed and wholemeal or rye bread. It also depends what you have with it.
Natural peanut butter, contain good fats and protein.
Cereals ? fine but choose one that isn't full of sugar. Oatmeal, shredded wheat, Weetabix, Museli without added Sugar. Have some protein too like eggs or bacon (grilled).
Most of all enjoy breakfast and fill up so you dont go hungry within a couple of hours and then go binging.
If you are Bulking, well I am about to start a bulk in Autumn so I am not the best for advice there, and look forward to reading other views.

My breakfast over the last three days:
Bowl of GrapeNut flakes with soy milk and a sliced banana on top, or
French toast made with whole wheat bread, whole free-range eggs, and all natural (no sugar-added maple syrup), or
3 whole scrambled eggs with peppers, onions, and jalapeno peppers mixed with 1/2 cup of shredded organic potatoes with 4 oz of buffalo sausage on the side

Peanut Butter on 100% whole wheat toast. Plus a banana or "fruit only" jam.
Whole grain, high fiber, low sugar cereal of some type -- like Wheat Chex or Fiber One.
My breakfast is usally 700-850 calories. I don't cut any corners for that first meal!
