so perhaps this is a little off-topic, but feel free to move this wherever it needs to go.

this morning, i'm going to do my long run, and i grabbed some bread for breakfast to make into a natty pb sandwich so i'd have some energy... to make a long story short, it must have been a little too early, because the bread was moldy and i didn't realize it until i had already eaten some of it. needless to say, i was in the bathroom 2 seconds later trying to get it out of my system. :d_frown:

this is not my day.

so now i'm afraid to work out because i don't know if i got the toxins all out of my system. i've eaten bad food in the past (undercooked meat) and then had food poisoning set in right in the middle of a run, so i don't want to repeat that, obviously.

has anyone else on here done something this silly? if so, were you ok? i'm just worried i'll get sick. and i don't want to be puking 5 miles away from home. sorry for the strange post, i couldn't find anything on the internet and i thought you guys might have some moldy-bread-eating advice.

thanks, and sorry for the graphic moldy post. :o

People eat it on cheese all the time.

But I wouldn't make a habit of it

Did you throw away the rest? Dang... I would have taken that. A little mold does a body good! :D

I've never heard of anyone having food poisoning from moldy bread.

.......well, other than that bit about grain mold and natural hallucinogenics therein being one of the possible root causes of the French Revolution....

When my father was in Vietnam during the Vietnam War, he received a package of banana bread from his mother. It was dark and monsooning at the time, so he didn't get a good look at it until after he had already scarfed half of it down. It had molded all the way through. He says it tasted fine.

Don't get into the habit of eating mold, though.
