View Full Version : Reached my BF goal of 8%, now on to the next!!!

I have lost a good amount of weight since i last posted, about 12 lbs. I did that in 2 1/2 months. I really learned a whole lot concerning nutrition and that help me the most. I was even able to lose that weight by only doing 3-4 times of cardio a week during 30 min at med intensity. I am looking forward to a bulk in the next months. Let me know what u guys think....

thx scott! I am thinking of staying at that weight for about one more month and try to maintain. Then in august I will start my bulk. Bulking always worries me since I have only done it once, i still don't know my body that well and I wanna make sure to minimize the fat gain as much as possible. I have a couple more pics that i will post later. Busy at work today!! hehe!

Thanks guys! I have put quite a bit of effort in my diet. I allowed myself some cheating, always on week end. I would eat more but still clean food. What i had a hard time, but got better at it, is to not drink too much when i go out. I would usually consume about 6 to 8 beers with a couple of JD every week end. I guess no one can be perfect ;) .

Spuriman: Seeing your avatar, you must be getting pretty damn close to sub 8%?

I love the feeling of being around 8% and even a little lower. I look small with clothes on, but i'll spend most of my summer at the lake so it's all good. About 3 weeks ago, it was my first time ever of feeling and seeing veins in my lower ab area, i freaking love it! :tucool:

I remember a few years back when my metabolism was still forgiving enough to let me drink like that. Enjoy it while it lasts. Anyway, you're looking good, man.

Diet:

When i am cutting i eat more or less 2000 cal/day. I keep my ratios as 50/35/15 most of the time. You can see my detailed food log @:

Cardio:

During my cutting, i do 4 times a week cardio. I run for about 30 to 35 min @ 6.6-6.7 mph. I try doing them in the mornings but due to bad weather i do them at night or at the gym after my workout.

Workout:

I follow most of the max OT principles but i go with more reps. 6-8 reps, . I do abs twice a week. I do crunches with added weights, but my best ab workout is with the decline bench and 60 lbs added on my chest. I go four 4 sets of 15. Then i do weighted leg raises for a couple of sets. You can see my workout which is attached in doc format.
Monday i do Bis Tris Forearms
Tuesday Shoulders and traps
Thursday legs
Friday Chest and Back

I try to do my cardio on days which i am not working out, but most of the time, i do twice on working out days and two more on non W/O days.

i'm always amazed at how well 144 lbs looks on your frame. if you posted over at MH, without pics they'd tell you to eat!

Just a little lat work would do you good, especially from the front. a little forarms before your arm workout. But what do I know, you'd look better than I would ever, haha.

as for having the balls to post leg pics, was pun intended on that one? ;)

Thx for the pointers. I know i don't weigh much, i guess i have small bones, my goal is weigh around 160-165 and lean. I am guessing a good two yrs of hard training and good eating would help me get there.

Steele, I am surprise you see my lats as a weekness, maybe the pics came out wrong but i think it is one of my strongest bodypart. I see more my arms and shoulders as my big weakness...

As far as b/4 pic, i don't have one specific, If i go to my parents house in the next weeks, i am sure i will find one or two. About 14 months ago, I was 160 lbs and really out of shape. Before that i always been in good shape since i was playing NCAA Div 1 tennis at the University of Arkansas Fayetteville. But when i graduated, i stopped playing tennis and running so i gained about 20 lbs. Not much lbs but when you consider i am 5-8 and my ideal weight is around 140-145 lbs, the 20 lbs over do show. I am glad i have changed my eating habits in the last year, and i don't see myself not work out ever again. I love this new life, and i feel so much better mentally and physically.

I'm the same weight. Didn't know 142 could look that great. Happy to know there's hope.

I wanna get to 160 eventually at a very low bf. People think i am skinny when i have a shirt on. We'll see how i look when i eventually reach my goal.

Unless you're 4'8", you'll still look simply "skinny" with a shirt on. Just don't wear clothes, then people will see that you've got some muscles :lol:

The doc said i should take a break for a good 2 weeks... I hate it. It's been over a yr that i am always real active. Every two months i would take a week off, but never from cardio. the worse thing is that when i have to rest i don't know what to do so i am always hungry, its carzy, it's killing me. It s carzy how much i don't think of eating when i work out, run and have a busy schedule...

Anyway, sorry for the rambling, i had to share my negative thoughts.... Have a nice week end!
