View Full Version : Ok.. so I hate food.. (was eating plan)
cz3ch Tue, June 8th, 2004, 10:29 PM Ok, so here was my old eating plan up until I got schooled:
Breakfast: 9am EAS Protein/Carb shakes
Mid Morning: 1030am Eas Protein Bars/Labrada
Lunch: 12pm Chicken + Salad
Mid afternoon: 2:30pm String Cheese or Protein Bar
Preworkout: 5:30 pm EAS Protein/Carb shakes
Postworkout: 6:30pm Protein Shake or Protein Bar
Dinner 7pm Chicken or Beef + Salad
Hydration: Superhydration 1-1.5 Gal Ice Cold water/Day 32oz serving x 4/5
Here's my proposal: (note I want to maxmize fatloss but not having to slave over a stove)
Breakfast: 9am Eggbeaters Omlette With veggies
Mid Morning: 1030am Eas Protein/Carb Shake
Lunch: 12pm Chicken + Salad
Mid afternoon: 2:30pm Tuna salad
Preworkout: 5:30 pm Labrada Lean Body Low Carb Protein/Allthewhey shake
Postworkout: 6:30pm Eas MRP Protein bar
Dinner 7pm Chicken or Tuna + Salad
I tried my hardest to add (REAL FOOD). I tried to keep my protein at about 150G and my calories at 1800-2000, and my carbs <30-40G. As I've previously mentioned, I have like 0 time to cook at all, working 12 hr days is hell. And I have never been one for actual food, I like synthetics better (MRP/Shakes/Bars), I don't really like "real foods" all that much.
I supplement with Omega-3/CLA/Pyruvate/Multivitamins/Aspirin (too keep my bp in check), Choline/DHEA/DMAE.
My diet/life sounds more like a freaking science project than it does a way of life eh?...
Again, comments are really appreciated... I just dove in the last 3 weeks blindly, just hoping I can keep the momentum going with less weight training and more cardio + eating more foods.
Pico Tue, June 8th, 2004, 11:03 PM tuna in cans dont need cooking, frozen broccoli takes 6 minutes to warm you can warm it while you take the tuna out of the can and put it in a bowl :p
oatmeal 1-2minutes
brown rice, i cook mine all at once and eat little each day
chicken breasts, same as rice, cook them all at once then eat during the week.
Taxcheat Tue, June 8th, 2004, 11:21 PM You aren't the only one who's ever had to deal with long hours at work. I can't help but think all shakes & bars isn't good for you. Two words: George Foreman.
Get the one with a timer.
1. Allow 5 minutes for warm up (turn it on while you go do somthing else)
2. Slap on some meat
3. Set timer to 5 minutes (use this time to cook veggies in the microwave or something)
4. When it beeps, remove meat
5. Wipe the Foreman with a paper towel
6. Eat
Now, unless you live right next door to a McDonalds, this takes less time than you could get in the car, drive through, order, and drive back. It's 12 minutes, tops. That's fast food! :eat:
Not as quick as a shake, but so much better for you.

Can't I just have George Foreman come over and fix my dinner? :p
Seriously, though, I was using my GF but it was more of a pain to clean than just wiping off. Usually took me about 4-5 paper towels and a good sponge with a soft scrubber side.
I just bake enough chicken breasts for a few days in the oven, though not as often as I used to. Probably have to start up again soon, though, as I'm quickly nearing 4000 kcal per day. :d_eek: :sigh:

Yeah, I went and picked up some of those 7oz pouches of white tuna 4 for 5$ at sams club... Got 2 boxes, that's like 4-5 days worth. Also picked up some salad (spring mix) to take to work, also some egg beaters (which I hear you can microwave to scramble..according to the package)...
I'm just concerned that eating brown rice, oatmeal, etc is going to slow the fatloss process.. that's my main goal right now.. is fatloss.. if the swo/rip comes that's fine and dandy but I want to get my fat gone... :)
I think it's just going to take some time to figure out how to manage my days with eating 6-8x/day. Creative planning...

I think I'll get my company to buy us one for the lunch room, then just buy chicken breasts and I can cook them fresh every day... I'm real finicky about my chicken though, I love it burnt... I hate it when it's tender/juicy.. (color me weird.. i know)..
I was going to cook a buttload of breasts on Sundays, but I dont think they'll keep for more than a couple of days, maybe just make sun+wed my cooking days (shrug).

I saw GF and read girlfriend. :p
I see a new career for myself. I will come over and fix people's dinner!
You wouldn't believe how much I love food and love cooking. It's unfathomable that not everyone shares my passion.
Bonus: believe it or not, I love shopping too and always get the best deals. So I'll cook your food, and buy all your groceries for you!
I could make a million. :D
Shadow12 Wed, June 9th, 2004, 03:11 AM Guava are you planning to make that an international offer. You can spend the whole summer here if you promise to cook me healthy and nutrishus meal every day. lol!
Taxcheat Wed, June 9th, 2004, 06:37 PM Guava, you're welcome to cook & shop for me any time, too! :D
As for cleaning the Foreman -- I just replaced my old one with a nice new one. I use a bit of olive oil before putting the 93%+ lean hamburger or chicken breast on it. It takes a quick scrape with the plastic thingy and a single paper towel to clean.
If you have an old original grill, it's worth the upgrade to a big one with the timer. Anyone ever do steak on it? My old one made steak grey and diisgusting. :d_eek:

I used to cook buffalo steaks on mine and they turned out great!

Your suggestions helped. I started today with eating more whole foods.
For breakfast had Eggbeaters which took 2 min in microwave to scramble, for one of my afternoon meals had a tuna packet. It's a bit more pricey to buy pre-packaged stuff but if it's good for me, then I'll go for it...
I"m interested in all the huff about oats... is that something i should be having in the morning with my eggs? I like plain rolled oats out of a container (strangely enough) that are not even cooked...
