I currently take Isopure 50g protein shakes for the following reasons:

1. It's got 50g protein per serving
2. It comes in nice individual pouches
3. It mixes pretty easy and tastes ok

I like it a lot, but I was wondering if some mixed proteins are better than others. Isopure contains whey protein, so I'm assuming that it stacks up against the others in the whey category. But if you take brand x and compare it to brand y, will either protein be more "quality" than the other? Is buying protein mix just a matter of which one tastes best or mixes best?

BTW, I'm talking about powdered protein mix here only. Please no comments about meat protein being better than powders.

Slush, I'm fairly new w/ regards to whey but what from I've read so far is that not all whey is quite the same. The top of the whey mixes contained mostly hydro-isolate? whey. The next tier down is isolate whey and lastly is whey concentrate. You could go check out www.bodybuilder.com and do a search for nutrition/whey. They'll have lots of info. I'm sure somebody more knowledgable will speak up here soon.

hey,

ya certain powder is better than others, ive only used 3 dfferent brands atm, and well im sticking with the last i tried atm (Reflex Instant Whey), planning to try some Optimum soon.

Some brands arent as good as others such as muscletech, muscletech whey is whey yea, but its mixed with a load of other junk and is also overpriced

Reflex gets my vote for taste and actual product

i will be using whey protein concentrate

the 2 types i know is isolate which is purified protein and protein concentrate where protein concentrate still has some FAT and CARBS.

i buy my protein from www.allthewhey.com after i finish my 5lb jar from them. i will purchase either 33LBS or a 50LBS bag of whey concentrate from them.

Their protein is pretty cheap i think. Prices are about

33lbs chocolate or vannilla $75
50lbs unflavored/natural $90

they have a 10% best price thing. its on the front page. here are some links if you plan on buying from them in bulk.
