View Full Version : Face fat loss
FurbyMaX Sun, June 6th, 2004, 07:23 AM Hello there!
I just wanted to ask whever you felt the face lose some of its fat while you were doing a fat loss program.
Here's a stupid little question: Does the nose lose some of the thickness too? I think that I've got some fat on my nose too, is that my imagination or is it possible to lose fat there?
Did your face seem better/prettier after a successful fat loss program?
Thanks!
Jim Sun, June 6th, 2004, 09:17 AM I'm not finished my fat loss program, but yeah, there is a thining out in the face, but I've been told the most noticable place for fat loss has been my shoulders and neck.
Knubb Sun, June 6th, 2004, 04:59 PM So far, there has not been that much of a change to my face as I would have hoped (you can hide a stomach by dressing correctly, but you can't cover your face that easily), but there has been some change. My cheeks where all puffy before, but they are better now, and my cheek bones are more visible (me like).
I haven't got the slightest idea about the nose though. I think it should have some fat on it, so maybe you could lose that, but I bet it's hard to exercise it...
That's just thoughts...
SteveB Sun, June 6th, 2004, 05:17 PM Theres barely any difference in my face compared to when i started getting in shape, are there any cardio type excersies for the face? Chewing gum maybe? :D
Destiny Sun, June 6th, 2004, 06:21 PM I have lost 24 pounds since I started and I see a pretty significant difference in my face. Most people who comment on my weightloss point out that my face looks so much thinner. I guess it depends on how your face looks to begin with. Mine looked a puffy and rounded in the jaw area. Now I have a more defined jaw line and cheek bones. So yeah, I would say my face looks a better after losing weight.
My boyfriend has lost 42 pounds and there is a huge difference in his face. The strange thing is that I never thought his face was chubby looking to begin with but when you look at the before/after pics there is quite a difference. :tu:
taffer Sun, June 6th, 2004, 08:18 PM you can never see a difference on yourself! thats what i find anyway :)
for me, my fat has come of very evenly, my face has changed alot over time, but since i look at my face basically everyday, i cant really notice it, but when i look at some old pics, i see it!
same with my lower-ab-fat, i just want it to die!!! i know its going, but i can hardly see it, very frustrating
woeisemma Sun, June 6th, 2004, 09:16 PM I can't tell a difference and I've lost 30 lbs.Hello there!

FionaMaeve Sun, June 6th, 2004, 09:24 PM I think taffer is right: hard to see it when it's your own face.
My husband has lost about 65 pounds. He doesn't see a difference in his face, but I definitely can.
When I look at woeisemma's pics on her website, I can see a noticeable difference in the face on the before and after pics.
When I look at my face, however, I don't see any difference from when I started, but my husband says he sees a difference.
Skoorb Mon, June 7th, 2004, 10:56 AM Anything that carries fat will lose fat. The nose has very little, but some, so you could notice it I suppose. My face dose trim up. Look at fat people - they don't have slim faces, do they? :)
simon.karlsson Mon, June 7th, 2004, 02:41 PM I think the best way is to do what john did and photo document the whole thing. This way you will see the differense black on white in inc, so people donīt have to rub it in that one have lost weight. I know it feela hard to accept when you look in the mirror, cause you still see the fat unhealthy person in the mirror most times, when the truth is that you have improved your whole body aswell as face appearence a whole lot.
When it comes to face definition, I have noticed that it in my case has a very significant difference depending on what water level I have in my body, how much sodium, saltī, water etc I have consumed.. If I lower watercontent of my body my face gains alot of definition.... it works if you wanna look extra good on a party night or something, but obviously this is only a way to fool yourself in the long run.
Also a tanned face often seem to appear much thinner or defined than a pale one... donīt know just a tip :p
born sleepy Mon, June 7th, 2004, 04:35 PM there's a huge difference in my face from last year. I just saw this pic of my mom, my sisters and me from last August and I just about screamed. my cheeks especially are slimmer and while my chin is still a little flabby it's a lot smaller than it was.
hey guys, is it just me or does yer package/basket/junk look bigger too? I know nothing actually grew, just that it's a lot less, um, constrained there.
I'm just sayin...

Yes, definitely. The bone structure of your face will appear more and more defined as you lose more bodyfat. You will start noticing that your cheekbones will become more visible, and your jaw line will be more pronounced. It will no longer "fade" into the side of your neck, but protrude out slightly.

HEHE didnīt really know what you meant by "basket" or "junk" but my Dong sure as hell look alot bigger :p after loosing bodyfat on the lower abdominals and thigs.... :D
simon.karlsson Tue, June 8th, 2004, 06:07 AM I just saw this picture of David Beckham the footballer. Note how he has sort of made a shadowline of facehair underneith to bring out his jawline.... and look more masculine.
I never noticed this on anyone before, but I reccon it looks good, Iīm gonna try doing that myself... It might hide some loose skin which is left from my old double chins.. :)

French Spirit Tue, June 8th, 2004, 11:43 AM I couldn't tell a difference, but there are certain ways to tell. At the beginning of my fat loss, when I tucked my chin into my neck, it gave me a double chin. Now I have to tuck it in really tightly to see that.
The Bied Tue, June 8th, 2004, 12:06 PM I found that the face fat was the first to go, because it was the last to come. You results could vary, of course.
A good cardio program will definitely help to get rid of face fat.
GSMan300 Thu, June 10th, 2004, 01:03 AM I recently lost 10 lbs. and was looking the mirror the other day and I said to myself..."I think my nose got smaller." It looked not as thick as it use to be and my jawline is coming through nice also.
So yes there is hope!
JeremyLikness Thu, June 10th, 2004, 02:06 AM My experience is that losing the fat in the face is connected to a few things. If you reach ultra low body fat, your face will begin to lean down - I noticed it around 7 or 8 percent body fat. However, some people have that rounded, more full appearance even at low body fat. I've found that eliminating dairy and focusing on keeping potassium intake higher than sodium intake (i.e. consuming plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables) helps keep my face lean even at higher body fat. My wife did not see definition/leanness in her face until she cut out dairy.

taffer Thu, June 10th, 2004, 04:12 AM i'd like to try cutting out dairy, but its just too hard to find a good substitute :\
i mean its such a good carb, protein and calcium source!
and in the morning, nothing beats oats, cottage cheese and milk!
and dairy is also good so you dont have to eat meat for your complete protein all day!
makstaks Thu, June 10th, 2004, 04:44 AM I lost a lot of fat in my face in the first 3 weeks. I have pics on my site that really show a difference. Several people commented just 2 weeks into my program.

The stomach is the last to go. Still round there.
Bluestreak Thu, June 10th, 2004, 08:45 AM Interesting I should bump into this topic now.
I didn't realize how much fat I lost in my face until I found some digital pictures last night (I was finally working on the website I want to put up!). I was probably half way through the initial weight loss last year at the time of this picture by the date it had on it. Damn, I didn't realize that even after I'd lost around 20-lbs, I was still that heavy. Nor did I realize how different I look now until I saw that picture.
My midsection is my problem area. In my face, my wife says I look 10% lean... around my middle, I still look 13~14%. It's the last fat reserve I have to conquer and I'll get there... it's coming time to up the cardio and blast it away!
