I'm a 19 year old, 5'9, ~160-165 lb male. I tried using the Harris-Benedict formula for BMR (without the multiplier) and it came out to 1833. I didn't want to use the multiplier because all I wanted was my base metabolic rate....do I need to use the multiplier or not? 1800 seems a lil low for a bmr to me and it would also make sense to me that the multiplier factors in the fact that people who exercise more have higher metabolisms (?).

I am wondering because I have been taking in probably around 1800-1900 cals and I'm feeling that might be a lil low for my height/weight. I am considering increasing my cals because I think that may help me lose more fat, but I want to be educated before I do that so that I don't set my weight loss back.
