I've had a set of hex dumbbells for a few years but only recently in the last 6 months worked out seriously. I saw an old post about buying these magnet 2.5 lb plates to cut the cost of buying heavier dumbbells as I move up in weight and wow! I ordered 2 pairs from www.fwonline.com that arrived today (cheapest place I could find) and even though the ones I got are for round dumbbells, they work on hex dumbbells that are 20 lbs and heavier. Now I can trade in my 25/35/45 and buy 50/70's (already had 60's). Thanks to whoever made that suggestion, it's going to make my dumbbell setup a lot less expensive. Galyan's is the cheapest place i have found, at around 42-43 cents a lb for new dumbbells (recent price increase from 35 cents/lb). Moving all the weights from St. Louis to Austin will be another story...
