OK, so im tryin to lose some weight, but i always give into cravings cause they are EVERYWHERE!!! I'm 18 and still live at home until i move out for college in the fall, but my mom keeps buying all these really bad for you foods because thats what i always used to eat, and thats what the rest of my family eats, and she doesnt buy much good for you good that i have to eat to lose weight. And whenever im over a friends houses or out somewhere, theres never good food solutions around and i either have to eat bad food or no food... i dont know what to do, and not only that, i just cant help not eating pizza, cookies, or whatever else is sitting in front of me.... what do i do!?!?!

You could ask your mom to buy you healthy food. You could also try to eat decent food before you go to your friends house so you are not hungry when they order pizza or eat other junk food. Also doing cardio will burn some calories though your main focus should be to alter your diet.

It will be tough until you live out on your own. You just need to be as strong as you can and when they are pounding soda drink water. Ask your Mom to buy you some healthier snacks/meal choices. Chip in. Go to the store with her to show her how much you care. Ask for her suggestions. Believe me when your friends order pizza (yea it sucks when they are eating it) but the next morning when you wake up you will not feel all bloated and you felt good for resisting... (At least I do)

ok tell your mum that your on a diet, and to buy healthier foods, better yet, go shopping with her, and buy the foods you need, what i do, is write out a list of everything i eat in a day, and times it by 7, i just take that to the shops and see if i need to top up on anything

if your having alot of cravings you probly arent eating enough in the first place, and you probly arent eating enough filling foods, such as oats and vegies (you can have about half a kilo of vegies for about 180calories, depending on the vegie, because most of their calories are fiber, which arent digested by the body, so they are very very good)

if you plan your meals, it helps alot, especially when you plan a meal every 3 hours, i find it easy to hold of the cravings for 3 measly hours, the first hour really doesnt count since you just ate!!

also if your going to a friends house, maybe take a backpack with some food in it, tupperware is your best friend!

thanks for the suggestions guys... what kind of veggies would you reccomend? i love broccoli, and those mini carrots are awesome too... what else should i look into gettin when i goto the store?

broccoli is awesome
asparagus, string/green beans, spinach, brussels sprouts, cauliflower are also good
also salads are good, with tons of lettuce, tomato, cucumber, onion, topped off with some vinegar tastes very good

Baby carrots are really good, try lettuce (incorporate into a salad), celery, tomatoes...

I'm also 18. I had this problem.

Ask them to give you money to buy your own shopping, providing you don't touch what they buy.
I buy my own shopping that way, much easier.

I buy a lot of frozen veg. Brussels sprouts, brocalli, Cauliflower, lettuce, carrots, tomatoes, peppers (for sandwhiches), onions.. usually that's it for veg.

i have that problem really bad, im 16, my broher is 18, and he has always been skinny, he can eat anything anytime, and he excercises 2 times a week at his soccer practice.. :d_mad: but he eats a lot, and since he was my brother, i ate a lot too, but i got fat.. so now im here with you guys :D

I got a job, so i make money. I go to the gym 3 or 4 times a week, so i always pass by the store, and i go in and i buy stuff that i want from my own money.. my mom always says she will give it back, but she always "forgets"..

im looking in the fridge.. there is.. : Choclate milk, Crumbcake :mad: , Apple juice packets, Salami, cheese, Mayo, ketchup.. mmmmm....

and then there is a lil corner with my stuff.. : Tofu, Soymilk, Milk, Jogurt.. lol thats about it.. i also buy a lot of nuts. i buy oatmeal, tuna, and otherstuff..

i told my mom to give me 20 a week and stop making food for me...ill make it myself.
