I'm in the process of putting together my meals as are many others on this site. I don't have it quite down yet but I have jumped on the tuna bandwagon along with a slight change to my breakfast. One thing I have noticed is how hungry I am. Did all of the junk food, sodas, burgers etc just fill me up longer? I plan on adding a shake of some kind (protein probably) and a few snacks and probably another small meal but I just wonder if it was all the bad foods that just sat in my gut all day and filled me up?

A few tips -- I recently changed my diet so I know where you are.
Lots of snacks keep you full
Cram your "meals" together. Mine are 5:30 AM, 6:00 AM, 9:00 AM, 12:00 PM, 3:00 PM, 5:00 PM, 7:00 PM, 9:00 PM
Some of those meals are just a protein shake and vitamins, by the way
If you're hungry and it's not time to eat yet, drink water. Your stomach will be fooled and the extra hydration doesn't hurt.
A few examples are available here (http://forums.johnstonefitness.com/showpost.php?p=2128&postcount=1). I'm eating more frequently than I was before. That helps A LOT. The water also helps a lot. The final thing to remember is that if you're planning out the right number of calories, the hunger is in your head. Once you fully realize that things get easier. At least, they did for me.

Thanks for the info. I have never had that many meals in a day before so it will take some planning and some getting used to. I never tracked my old eating habits so for all I know I could be eating 1000 calories less than I was before. I will have to adjust it as needed. I started fit-day.com and that should help. Thanks again.

I'd like to emphasize that a "meal" can just be some cashews, or a banana. If you read Anthony Ellis (http://www.fatlosstips.com) he'll show you that a "meal" is just when you eat something.
Planning is the most important. You don't need to be hungry. Water is the second most important thing. That'll get you over the hump mentally.

I been trying the water thing but I spend half the day back and forth to the bathroom. I suppose once my body gets used to the increase in water intake it should adjust.
