I just picked up a used Schwinn Airdyne bike off Craigslist for $300. I've wanted one of these bikes for a while, so I'm happy to have it! It's a few years old, one of the white models with the computer readout.

I'm excited to go do some HIIT on this thing. I'll report back with my thoughts after I've had a chance to use it.

Update: this bike is horrible. Unfortunately, it works exactly as advertised. :)

I've never had a harder cardio workout in my life. The beauty / horror of this machine is that the resistance increases based on how hard you pedal. When I was going all out for HIIT, I felt like my lungs were going to explode, and I'm in pretty good cardiovascular shape.

The fan generates a reasonable amount of noise, so I'm going to be keeping this bike in the garage. The good thing is that my workouts won't last very long, since I just can't handle it!

Another Airdyne update - I've been using the bike over the past two months, really enjoying it. I'm now using it for HIIT and it's great. I have some pretty serious cardio planned over the next two months, so I will report back after more use.
