I just saw some for a pretty good price.. thought I'd ask here before buying.. Thanks, Bill I love your avatar. What kind of price are we talking about here? I've always found the Designer Whey and the Optimum Nutrition Whey to be the best tasting, best priced whey protein out there. John Stone Fri, January 30th, 2004, 03:38 PM I'm going to derail the thread a little to mention that I also like your avatar. ...but now I can't get "Still" out of my head. :) Sorry, have not tried Pro-Rated. Hey John, isn't your job somewhat similar to what his avatar's job was before the printer incident? :p No, of course I'm not trying to pry into why you might actually like that avatar! Seriously... If I were forced to watch 2 minutes of film repeatedly, I'm pretty sure I'd pick the beginning of that movie. Sock Fri, January 30th, 2004, 05:33 PM I'd like to take a bat to my pager and Nextel, that's for sure! We share the same special hell.  Rockman Fri, January 30th, 2004, 08:27 PM BillS, I also use Pro-rated whey. Haven't tried any other whey products so I can't make an informed judgement. I figure a 6 lb jug for $20.00 at Costco will do me fine. Whey protein concentrate is the main ingredient followed by whey protein isolate. Unfortunately, I don't how much of each is present. Most of the designer wheys are isolate and are more expensive. Regardless, I'm going to keep using it as it helps me attain my protein needs at this early stage of transformation. ps. "Oh, there's my red stapler". John Stone Fri, January 30th, 2004, 09:06 PM ps. "Oh, there's my red stapler". "OK, but that's the last straw." I really shouldn't keep derailing this thread, seeing how I'm an admin and all, but I can't resist because movies are my weakness and I love Office Space. Oh, that and tonight's my cheat meal and I've had a spot of wine. Aaron Fri, January 30th, 2004, 10:56 PM "PC Load Letter What the ****.. " BillS Sat, January 31st, 2004, 02:17 AM It was gonna be either this avatar, a Rob Zombie Hellbilly Deluxe one I found, or the boinking pigs... As for the whey.. Ive tried a few different ones.. my costco only has soy protein powder.. If they had a 6 lb of whey powder for 20 bones I would definately pick it up just to try it! The breakdown on their web site seems pretty good. I saw it on ebay for $29 not including shipping.. and it was $25 for 6 lb on their own site. I actually like the metrx that I am using now, but it needs a blender. Rockman Sat, January 31st, 2004, 02:31 AM Well, I see that you're also in Norcal. If you're in the vicinity of Concord, Ca., the Costco there has Pro-rated as I mentioned above. Vanilla and chocolate, possibly strawberry flavors. BillS Sat, January 31st, 2004, 03:27 PM I'm up in Santa Rosa, but there is another costco in Rohnert park.. maybe I will check that one out. If not, next time my bro goes to costco (fremont) Iwill have him look there.. Razor Sat, January 31st, 2004, 03:30 PM I recently got a 5lb jug of strawberry Pro-Rated whey. I like it. Glamdring Sun, February 1st, 2004, 12:20 AM You can get a 10lb bag of Optimum Nutrition protein for like $47. It also instantizes in water so you don't need a blender. It tastes good too. ;) BillS Sun, February 1st, 2004, 04:19 PM I tried another costco and of course they didnt have pro rated whey.. stopped carrying it in favor of soy protein powder. So, I checked and they do have it at the costco where my folks live so I called and they are picking me up a 6 pounder. Question, what do you do with the non flavored whey? mix it in with other food or drink? taffer Sun, February 1st, 2004, 05:32 PM well i just had my first "proper" serving of optimum whey, choc mint flavor ("proper" meaning according to my meal plan) and let me tell you it tasted GREAT! i put 1/2cup oats, 1 scoop whey, and 1/4cup of skim milk im going to be looking forward to eating this every morning, and trying all the great flavors davey_fl Sun, February 1st, 2004, 06:12 PM ok but I'm going to have to burn the building down. bluemc Mon, February 2nd, 2004, 12:13 AM i'd recommend allthewhey.com their the cheapest protein concentrate u can find. they also have a 10% best price they'll beat anyones price by 10% http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2983807904&category=40963 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=40963&item=2981233255 dteeban Mon, February 2nd, 2004, 12:47 AM hey bill, are you by any chance on the mike portnoy forum? BillS Mon, February 2nd, 2004, 01:08 AM hey bill, are you by any chance on the mike portnoy forum? Just happened to be at a good price on ebay at the time. They were around $18-25 for each 5 lb tub. Mint chocolate chip > chocolate |
