Here's some pictures showing the progress I've made on my biceps and abs since mid January of this year.
**UPDATED AUGUST 30**
Man, it takes a long time to get results! Okay, wow, I'm still amazed that I have been able to continue to improve through all these months, albeit not quite as quickly as others here have been. Bottom line however is that I am happy with what I'm accomplishing, and I take great pleasure not only in the results but in the process. :D

Also, correct me if I'm wrong but, aren't you a mother of one or two children? Your most recent photo looks more like the midsection of an 18-20 year old athete, to me.

So, Congrats x2

Your arms look amazing! You use dumbells, right? How much weight are you using and how many reps?

You look awesome!

Thank-you everyone for your comments.

Yes, I'm a thirty-year old mother of two. I didn't post the pics that show the stretch marks.

I really liked how April's photo turned out. I can see a six-pack in there, but it didn't show up in May's photo, even though it shows up in the mirror. Another month and maybe it'll be there all the time.

I would love to know what my body fat percentage is, but I can't seem to find a place that will measure it.

For weight, I'm using almost exclusively dumbbells. I'm using 7.5 kg for each arm right now, which I've been using for more than a month now, maybe two. I'm surprised that I'm still lifting to almost failure on 8 reps with it after all that time; maybe I need to slow down the reps or something. Then again, I don't really need bigger muscles, so I'm happy to stay at maintenance.

Suddenly I want to date an older woman...

At first I said "what the hell is he talking about" then I looked.

I had NO idea Guava was 30. Now, 30 ain't old (I am very close myself) but your tummy looks nothing like you'd expect from a 30 year old mommy.

Uber-congrats again, I thought you were like 23-24.

Here is my artistic impression of how I look in a bikini. I'm too chicken to post the original, but I played with it till it looked cool. I applied the line drawing effect and increased the contrast. Voila, instant art!

Based on the calculation from mybodycomp, my body fat is 20.51%.

Your arm is shredded. Here is a comparison between your arm and a pro fitness model/competitor.

Apart from the bicep peak (and tan), your arms look similar IMHO and you're well on your way to competing (if you wanted to) :tu:

I believe the mybodycomp number is WRONG. I do NOT think you are at 20% bodyfat.

Based on the small pieces we've seen, and your stunning profile/artistic bikini photo (Great curves, by the way, I'll bet your husband is ecstatic :) ) I would guess more like 16-18%.

Why don't you try another measurement system to get a second data point for comparision? (go to a gym and have one of their personal trainers do it, it should be free or low cost and only takes a minute)

Hey Guava, that's an awesome arm there. you're making me look at my arms in shame. I really wish I thought of taking flexed photos in the beginning that was a good idea. And your photoshoping many months together was a good idea.

Great work! You're kids will be proud to have such a fit parent as they get older.

I believe mybodycomp could be way off, but I don't know enough about women's body fat percentage to be able to estimate mine. It's just a number. I'll try and get it done some time this summer, but right now I'm not going to bend over backwards to find a place to do it.

Yes, my husband is happy with how I look. Okay, maybe that's an understatement:D

I'm not sure if the kids notice yet, but I'm proud to be a fit mom instead of an out of breath one.

I've thought about maybe competing at some time, but I've never really looked into it. At this point, I don't think I could do it because I'm so absolutely terrified of growing bigger legs!

Your results are amazing guava! You should be very proud of yourself. You've managed to create an awesome physique - especially your midsection/abs(!!) - and you've done it in a healthy, nutritionaly-sound way. You are setting a great example of the right way to do it, keep it up!

Thanks John. It's really exciting to be in the middle of a transformation like this. I am set for the summer, but we'll see how the motivation holds out for the fall.

I thought it was time for a new update.

The photos don't show as much change as I'd hoped, but at least it's not a negative change. :D :D :D

No there i definetaly a change there. A percentage of bodyfat at least.

Time for another update.

I haven't been updating monthly because I don't seem to see very much change each month. But between two months, I can usually see a difference.

From pic 1 to the last pic, it's about 15 pounds lost. I still don't know my body fat percentage, but my scale says it's between 15 and 18%. I'm focusing on performance gains instead of aesthetic changes, but usually getting stronger involves a change in appearance as well.
